Dawesville parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am at Dawesville Foreshore Reserve, Estuary Rd
Dawesville, WA, Australia. Dawesville parkrun is FREE and open to people of all standards and ages, both as volunteers and as runners / walkers. We encourage people of every ability to take part, from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians, from juniors 5 years or older to those with decades of experience. All runners receive encouragement and enjoy being part of a community event open to all standards. Equally, our volunteer teams come from a huge variety of backgrounds and we urge everybody to get involved in organising their local events at least 3 times per year.

Tutus at the ready!

Did you know that when parkrunday falls on the 22nd of the month, it becomes Tutu Day?

So, for our 22nd birthday, we want to go one step further with a sea of tutus at parkrun this weekend.

We are so proud to have been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Mandurah Sports Awards for the Inclusion Program / Event award 🤩

And honestly, this one feels pretty special. ❤️

Inclusion is at the heart of what we do.

At parkrun, there’s no “right” way to participate. You can run, walk, jog, volunteer, bring the kids, come with a friend, come on your own, chase a PB, take your time, or simply turn up and be part of the community.

Everyone belongs. Everyone is welcome. Everyone gets to be part of it.

And we think that’s one of the things that makes Dawesville parkrun — and parkrun communities everywhere — so special.

Every Saturday, we see people of different ages, abilities, backgrounds and experiences come together with one simple thing in common: they’re part of our parkrun family. 🥰

Being recognised as a finalist is a wonderful acknowledgement of the incredible community that makes Dawesville parkrun what it is — our participants, our volunteers, our supporters and everyone who helps create a place where people feel welcome.

So, regardless of what happens on awards night, we’re already pretty proud. 💚

Drum roll please….. our 2026 Mandurah Sports Awards finalists are here! 🎉

There is so much happening across sport in Mandurah, and it’s wonderful to see the people, teams, clubs and volunteers who give their time and energy recognised through these awards.

A great turnout for a cold morning with 121 finishers today, a cold southerly headwind on the wayout allowed a good tailwind on the return Journey helping 21 people achieve a PB at Dawesville. We had 30 people do their first Dawesville parkrun of which 15 completed their very first parkrun, well done to all. Getting to their milestones today were Oisin O Brien J10, David Leddin 400, Isla Skinner 25 congratulations.
We had 10 volunteers making parkrun possible today but we are very short of volunteers for next week and thereafter, please consider taking on a volunteer role to keep parkrun happening in Dawesville. Today we had Mark, Sally, Sophie, Rachel, Heidi, Graham, Pegi, Caitlyn and Christine volunteer thanks a million for your effort.

The rain came down, the skies were grey,
But still our parkrunners came out to play.
Under the tents we huddled in tight,
For our pre-run briefing… out of the rain, what a sight! ☔

Fourteen amazing volunteers made it all go,
Ange, Bruce, Caitlyn, Christine, Isaac and Janice in tow.
Jasper, Jenny, Kayla, Janine, Luca and Miller too,
With Sarah and Tristian — a massive thank you! 💜

Forty-five brave souls took on the course,
Through puddles and rain with plenty of force.
And despite conditions that were rather trying,
Seven of you got PBs! — absolutely flying! 🏃‍♀️💨

A huge congratulations to Maria Hutchins today,
Who reached her 50 milestone along the way! 🎉
Fifty parkruns — what a fantastic feat,
And definitely worth celebrating in the rain-soaked street!

We also had some special visitors join our crew,
From Port Bouvard SLSC — welcome to you! 🌊
You brought some wonderful volunteers along,
And helped keep our soggy little parkrun strong.

Good thing you were here, just in case,
We needed lifeguards to rescue the place! 😂
Because with all that rain, we weren't quite sure…
Were we running parkrun… or swimming to shore? 🏊‍♀️

And tomorrow is their Open Day, before their new season begins,
So if surf lifesaving sounds like your kind of thing, pop in! 🌊
It was fantastic seeing our two community clubs unite,
Sharing volunteers, community and a Saturday morning done right. 💜

So whether you ran, walked, volunteered or got thoroughly wet,
Today was one we certainly won't forget!
45 finishers. 14 incredible volunteers. 7 PBs. One very soggy morning. 🌧️

Same time, same place next week…
Hopefully with slightly less swimming! 😂💜
