Catching up with Miguelito Chapuis. By popular demand! We asked on our socials during the Tenerife event who you wanted us to catch up with, and Miguelito’s name kept coming up. So here he is!

Miguelito had a bit of a late start to the season after a bad landing this winter left him with a Lisfranc injury that required surgery. That meant arriving in Pozo with barely any training and not really knowing how much he’d be able to push. But heat after heat, the foot was feeling good, the confidence was building and he just kept going bigger.

And then came THAT heat. With only seconds left and his place in the next round on the line, he pulled off a massive double forward and made it through. From there, he was on a roll, all the way to an incredible third place.

That gave him a pretty nice confidence boost going into Tenerife, where he made the quarterfinals and finished 13th overall. In a stacked heat with Takuma and Pons on fire, both Marcilio Browne and Miguelito were knocked out.

But we’re only halfway through the season, with three 5-stars behind us and another three 5-stars still to come. With that boost from his Pozo result and the level he’s showing right now, we’re very curious to see where he takes it from here.

His progression over the last couple of seasons has been crazy to watch, the level keeps going up, he’s not afraid to send it, and it really feels like Miguel is only getting started!

We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on him. Good luck for the rest of the season, Miguelito!

Catching up with Morgan Noireaux, the Hawaiian rider and multiple-time Aloha Classic World Cup champion, talking about his experience at the Tenerife World Cup.

Morgan is currently sitting 8th in the world windsurfing wave rankings, with three 5-star events still ahead. Two of them, Chile and Maui, are among his favorite stops on tour, and places where he’s already delivered some great results in the past. With plenty still to play for, there’s a real opportunity for Morgan to climb even higher in the rankings before the season is over.

Morgan is also one of the most exciting riders to watch, whether he’s competing or training at home in Maui. He’s always pushing hard, constantly getting creative on the water, and his consistency is seriously impressive. Add to that the countless hours he puts into training, and you know he’ll be ready for what’s coming next.

We can’t wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds for him. Good luck, Morgan!

The Tenerife Spanish Windsurfing Cup kept the action going in El Cabezo right after an epic week of World Cup competition.

This 2-star World Wave Tour event brought some of Spain’s best wave sailors back onto the water, with many of the national riders coming straight from competing in the World Cup. The level was seriously high, delivering another incredible show in one of the world’s most iconic wave spots.

Catching up with Daniel Dunkerbeck, the youngest of the family and already competing in the U15 World Cup. 🌊

With his dad, Björn, one of the biggest names in windsurfing history, and his brother Liam coming fresh from the World Cup finals in Pozo, Daniel is clearly following the same family passion for the sport, while already bringing plenty of his own style to the water.

Such a pleasure to watch him sail, with some awesome no-handed jumps and those beautiful, classic Table Tops. But even better is the character behind the sailing, always smiling, super friendly and clearly loving every minute on the water.

Wishing Daniel all the best, plenty of new tricks landed and, most importantly, lots of fun along the way!

TENERIFE WORLD CUP GRAND MASTERS RECAP | MIKE FRIEDL TAKES THE WIN

Mike Friedl does it again! The reigning Masters World Champion takes another victory in the Grand Masters division, making it 2 wins in the Canary Islands after Pozo, and this time doing it at El Cabezo.

Mike has clearly been putting in the hours. He’s fit, sailing at a seriously high level and looking sharp every time he hits the competition scene. His son, Mike Friedl Junior, is also a regular on the World Cup scene competing in Pro Men, and Mike is showing once again that he’s all in this season.

The battle in the final for the other podium spots brought together Per Schmitz and Tenerife locals and close friends Sandro D’Alessio and Alessandro “Derox” Mazzetti. Sandro looked super confident with big Back Loops, while the local knowledge of D’Alessio and Mazzetti really showed in their wave riding at a spot they know inside out. Sandro takes 2nd, Derox 3rd and Per 4th. Great to see the Cabezo locals battling it out on the World Cup stage at their home playground, and surely some extra motivation for the next sessions at home! 🔥
