The Kettering Cricket Club is excited to announce that Justin “Jud” Direen will take on the role of Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Jud will work alongside Marcus and the coaching group, offering support and guidance to help players embrace change and achieve their goals. He brings positivity, enthusiasm, focus, knowledge, respect, patience and clear communication to the role.

Jud believes development is a team effort. Coaches should create an environment that enables players to experience the performances required to be effective in the game.

“The environment you create, and the relationships you build, are what will harvest success. It’s my responsibility to instil in players the confidence to be brave and be different.”

Jud brings a wealth of cricket experience to the Mariners, including:

Kingborough District Cricket Club
- Third Grade premiership player
- Two seasons as Third Grade captain
- Coaching and nets captain
- Under-17s coach

Slab Road Cricket Club
- Dual premiership player across all three grades during a 15-year playing career

Marquis Tigers
