2027 KNA | NOMINATIONS & EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST NOW OPEN

As we wrap up another big season with Grand Finals this weekend, planning is already underway for 2027 at Kiama Netball Association — and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Nominations are now open for both Executive and Non-Executive Subcommittee positions for 2027.

Whether you’ve been involved with KNA for years or are ready to contribute in a new way, this is your opportunity to help shape and support our Association for the season ahead.

We’re down to the second last weekend of the 2026 season, and tomorrow it’s Preliminary Finals time!

For the teams taking the court on Saturday 12 September, there’s just one more win standing between you and a place in the Grand Final. Bring the energy, back your teammates and enjoy the occasion.

A quick heads-up for everyone heading to the courts: Sydney FC also has an event taking place at the neighbouring soccer fields tomorrow, so the precinct is expected to be busier than usual. Please allow plenty of extra time to find parking and get to your court before your game.

As finals intensity builds, a reminder to keep the sidelines positive and respectful. Support your team, respect the umpires, officials, opposition and fellow spectators, and help us create a great finals environment for everyone.

Good luck to all our Preliminary Finalists — leave it all out there!

SEMI FINALS ARE HERE!

Congratulations and good luck to all teams taking the court for Semi Finals tomorrow, Saturday 5 September.

A few reminders for everyone joining us tomorrow:

• Please show respect towards players, coaches, umpires, officials and fellow spectators. Positive behaviour on and around the courts is expected from everyone.
• No dogs are permitted around the courts.
• No scooters around the courts.
• Unfortunately, our coffee van will NOT be available tomorrow, so make sure you grab your coffee before you arrive!

Let's make Semi Finals Day a great one and create a positive environment for everyone involved.

For any Kiama Representative athletes and umpires turning 15 or 16 years of age in 2027, nominations are now open for the Illawarra Academy of Sport netball program.

This program is designed to help athletes develop technical and tactical skills in a supportive, challenging, and fun culture that introduces talented athletes, umpires, and coaches to performance sport.

We love to see our local athletes, umpires and coaches thrive in this environment.

The IAS Netball Program is proudly supported by Collegians and provides unparalleled opportunities for training, coaching, and competition for young, aspiring athletes!

For the people who simply get in and help.

You know who they are.

They’re setting up before everyone arrives. Jumping into the canteen when it’s busy. Helping at working bees. Sweeping courts. Fixing something that’s broken. Staying behind when something needs to be done.

The Lee Ellem Memorial Service Award recognises an individual who has made a valuable service contribution to Kiama Netball Association, particularly over the past 12 months or consistently over a number of years.

There is no age restriction, and nominees may be a KNA member or non-member. 

Often, these are the people working quietly in the background without expecting any recognition.

If someone immediately comes to mind, nominate them.

Every game needs them, and developing strong umpires is an important part of developing our game.

Nominations are open for the KNA Umpires Award – Junior & Senior, recognising participation in and contribution to umpiring within Kiama Netball Association.

This isn’t simply about the highest badge or the biggest games.

Think about an umpire who:

• Regularly puts their hand up to umpire
• Takes pride in their performance
• Is enthusiastic and willing to learn
• Actively works to develop their umpiring
• Supports club and Association umpiring activities
• Contributes beyond their own allocated games
