Vale Gashie ❤️

On behalf of myself, Melrose FC and the entire Melrose community, I want to extend our deepest condolences to Chris “Gashie” Gash’s family, friends, and everyone at the Cobram Roar Football Club.

I’ve had the privilege of spending a lot of time with Gashie over the years, and I’ll always remember him for the person he was — genuine, warm, generous and incredibly welcoming.

Every time we travelled to Cobram, Gashie made us feel at home. His hospitality, his friendship and the way he welcomed the Melrose Football Club will always be remembered and appreciated. The time we shared, the conversations, the laughs and the football will stay with me for a long time.

Football clubs are built on people, and Gashie was one of those people who made the football community a better place. His impact on Cobram Roar and the people around the club will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Gashie’s family during this incredibly difficult time, and with all of the Cobram Roar community who are grieving the loss of a great man and friend.

From all of us at Melrose FC — thank you, Gashie, for the memories, the friendship and for always making us feel welcome.

💜 OUR DIVISION 1 WOMEN, WE COULDN’T BE PROUDER 💜

What a heartbreaking end to an incredible season for our Division 1 Women, going down 2–1 in Saturday’s Grand Final.

While the result didn’t go our way, there is absolutely no doubt in our minds that our girls gave everything they had, fought for every ball and showed the heart, determination and spirit that has made this team so special all season.

But despite the heartbreak, you should all hold your heads incredibly high. You have given this club so much to be proud of - from becoming league champions for the first time in 40 years, to making it all the way to the Grand Final. What you have achieved this season will be remembered for a long time. 💜

To our players - thank you for giving everything, for representing the purple with pride, and for showing what it means to be a team on the field and friends off the field.

To our Div 1 women’s coach, Adam, thank you for time, energy and dedication, standing beside this incredible group every step of the way and providing them with the guidance and support week in and week out.

To our supporters - the atmosphere you brought to the game Saturday was incredible and greatly appreciated by all.

The scoreboard may say 2–1, but it doesn’t tell the full story of this team or this season.

We are unbelievably proud of you girls 💜

💜 SEMI FINALS RESULTS 💜⚽️

It was a tough weekend of finals football for the Purple Army, with both of our men’s teams facing some seriously trying conditions on Saturday. Despite the challenging weather, both teams worked incredibly hard and left absolutely everything out on the pitch. 💪

We couldn’t be prouder of the effort, determination and fight shown by both teams. 💜

Then on Sunday, our Div 1 Women stepped up and delivered when it mattered, securing a 2–1 victory over Wodonga Heart and booking their place in the GRAND FINAL! 🏆💜

A massive congratulations to our women — what an incredible achievement! 🎉

To all three teams, thank you for giving it everything this weekend. We’re incredibly proud of you all. 💜
