We’re excited to announce that 31st October & 1st November has now been added to the Sugar City Barrel Races calendar! 🎉

But before then, we’ve got our next event coming up on 26th & 27th September, featuring Rounds 9 & 10, plus a Novelty Event.

📣 EVENT UPDATE

Unfortunately, due to us being unable to use the grassed oval for horse warm-up at our upcoming event, we put it to our members to vote on whether we should go ahead as planned or move the rounds.

The results were:

🐴 29 votes – Move the event
🐴 18 votes – Go ahead

Based on the majority vote, we will be moving these rounds, along with our Dress-Up Event, to our September event date.

Our 2026 Finals will then be held in October, with the date to be confirmed as either:

📅 24 & 25 October
or
📅 31 October & 1 November

We are just waiting on confirmation from the Show Society as to which weekend is available and will let everyone know as soon as this is confirmed.

We know changes to the calendar aren’t always ideal, but having a safe and suitable area for horses to warm up is important, and we appreciate everyone who took the time to vote and have their say.

We’re looking forward to a big September event with the Dress-Up fun included, followed by our Finals in October! 🐴💙

If you have already nominated your nominations will be automatically carried across to the September dates. If you can't make the September event we will refund your nomination payment.
