Round 7 of Success Avenue NPL 5.0 delivered another action-packed weekend of cricket, with dominant team performances, explosive batting displays, and devastating bowling spells taking centre stage. As the tournament enters its latter stages of the first half, every result is becoming increasingly important, and this week's stars certainly rose to the occasion.

The standout performance of the round belonged to Dapinder Sharma from the Knights Watchmen, whose breathtaking unbeaten 101 off just 43 balls earned him the Player of the Week award. Dapinder ripped through the opposition attack, smashing 6 fours and 10 towering sixes after his side had already taken complete control of the contest. Earlier in the day, teammate Viral Mehta ripped through the batting order with a magnificent five-wicket haul, laying the perfect platform before Dapinder's brutal century rounded off a comprehensive victory for the Knights Watchmen.

Another batsman who made every ball count was Newcastle Falcons’ Muneeb Ahmad Altaf. His 22 off just 7 deliveries, at a strike rate of 314.28, was the perfect late-innings flourish and saw him deservedly pocket the Super Striker of the Week award.

The bowlers at the Newcastle Hunters put in one of their most complete efforts of the season. Having set a commanding total, the Hunters bundled out their opponents to record a crushing 132-run win. Nebin Liby set the attack alight in brilliant style, taking 2 wickets for just 4 runs from his two overs. His miserly spell earned him the title of Economical Bowler of the Week.

The Maitland Super Kings continued their winning momentum from a commanding display in Round 6 and delivered another clinical performance. Their bowlers skittled the opposition for just 84 runs with Blake Silvester leading the charge with a sensational spell of 4-0-14-5. His superb five-wicket haul earned him the Lightning Bowler of the Week award before the Super Kings comfortably chased down the target to maintain their fine run of form.

Elsewhere around the grounds, Wallsend United had a commanding victory thanks to a devastating bowling display from Hamza Virk and Saham Memon, with both bowlers taking impressive four-wicket hauls. Meanwhile, Daniel Collinson once again showed why he is one of the competition's premier batters, compiling a composed unbeaten 82 to steer TMCC to a valuable win.

Round after round, Success Avenue NPL 5.0 continues to showcase the quality and competitiveness of community cricket in Newcastle. Whether it's batters clearing the ropes, bowlers producing match-winning spells, or teams finding different ways to get the job done, every weekend brings a new story. With Round 7 now in the books, the stage is set for another blockbuster weekend of NPL action.
