✨ Everyone deserves to feel safe, no matter their background or ability.
✨ It is always okay to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.

RESPECT OUR UMPIRES – BE KIND FROM THE SIDELINES!

At Kingston & Districts Netball Association, we are committed to creating a positive, safe and supportive environment for everyone involved in our great game.

Our umpires play an essential role in netball, and many are young people who are still learning, developing their skills and building confidence.

Just like our players, umpires are learning too!

We ask all players, coaches, parents and spectators to remember:

✅ Encourage and support our umpires.

✅ Respect their decisions, even when you disagree.

✅ Keep sideline comments positive and respectful.

✅ Remember that mistakes are part of learning.

✅ Be a positive role model for our young players.

🚫 Negative comments, intimidation or abuse towards umpires will not be tolerated.

If you have a concern during a game, please speak with a KDNA Court Supervisor rather than approaching or questioning an umpire directly.

Without umpires, there is no game!

Let’s work together to make Kingston a place where our umpires feel safe, valued and confident to continue their umpiring journey.

💙💛 Respect the whistle. Support the umpire. Enjoy the game.

🏐 KDNA SPECTATOR REMINDER – LET’S KEEP IT POSITIVE! 🏐
As we enjoy another great season of netball, we’d like to remind all spectators that the way we behave on the sidelines matters!
Netball should be a safe, welcoming and positive environment where everyone feels supported, respected and encouraged to do their best.
In line with KDNA’s Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct, we ask all spectators to:
👏 Encourage and celebrate all players, regardless of the team they play for.
💚 Show respect towards coaches, officials, volunteers and other spectators.
🏐 Remember that umpires, particularly our young and developing umpires, are learning too. They deserve patience, encouragement and respect as they develop their skills and confidence.
🚫 Refrain from negative comments, criticism, shouting, intimidation or disrespectful behaviour towards players, coaches or umpires.
🤝 Model the positive behaviour we want our young people to demonstrate, both on and off the court.
There is no place for abusive, intimidating or disrespectful behaviour at KDNA. Negative comments or behaviour directed towards anyone involved in the game, especially our umpires, will not be tolerated.
We all have a responsibility to help create a child-safe environment where everyone feels safe, valued and supported.
Let’s cheer loudly, encourage positively and remember why we’re here — for the love of netball! 💚🏐. Here is the link to Netball Victoria’s Code of Conduct. https://vic.netball.com.au/code-of-conduct. Thank you for being part of a positive KDNA community
