Great players are more similar than they are different. 🏌️♂️
It’s easy to look at the best players in the world and focus on the unusual pieces — the funky grip, unique backswing, different footwork or rare move.
But those are often the outliers, not the blueprint.
If you want to learn from great players, search for the similarities.
What do the best ball-strikers consistently have in common?
What do they do similarly through impact?
How do they control the clubface, low point and ground?
How do they create predictable ball flight?
There will always be individual styles and match-ups, but underneath those differences, the best players do a lot of the same things.
Don’t build your golf swing around the exception.
Study the patterns that keep showing up. Stack & Tilt Golf
🎥 Throwback to 2017…
Nearly 10 years ago working on some short-game technique.
Back then, I watched a TONNE of Stan Utley videos and based a lot of my short-game style around his ideas.
Looking back, there are still things here that I really like:
⛳ The Palm to Palm grip I was using
⛳ The grip working around the belt buckle
⛳ The pivot action controlling the motion
There are also things I taught and believed back then that I’ve adapted, changed, or maybe don’t believe anymore.
That’s coaching. You learn, test ideas, gain experience and keep evolving.
Coaches and golfers — what have you changed or adapted in your short-game beliefs over the last 10 years?
Would love to hear what you used to do compared to what you do now 👇

LONG ARC vs SHORT ARC 🏌️♂️
A quick lesson recap looking at how different follow-through intentions can help control the golf ball.
🔹 Long Arc — allowing the arms and club to travel longer post through impact— holding wrist angles post impact
🔹 Short Arc — a more compact follow-through, folding the arms - releasing the club sooner
Understanding how to change the shape and length of your follow-through can be a great tool for controlling trajectory, speed and shot shape.
Different shot = different intention. 🎯

CONTROL YOUR FLIGHT ⛳️
Want to control trajectory without forcing your hands through impact?
Using ulnar deviation through the strike, combined with a longer, wider follow-through arc, can be a great way to manage the flight of your golf shots.
The feel:
🏌️♂️ Ulnar deviate through impact
↗️ Keep the club moving on a long arc
💪 Maintain width through the follow-through
🎯 Control trajectory and strike without excessive hand action
Rather than trying to “hold” the clubface or manufacture the flight, use the wrist motion + swing arc to influence how the club travels through the ball.
Experiment with different follow-through lengths and trajectories and see how the ball flight responds.

CONTROL THE RADIUS ➡️ CONTROL YOUR LOW POINT ⛳️
One of the biggest factors in controlling where the club hits the ground is managing the radius of your swing.
Think of the swing arc as a circle and the radius as the distance from the centre of that circle to the clubhead.
If that radius changes too much through impact — excessive arm bending, loss of posture, or the body moving away from the ball — your low point becomes less predictable.
A more consistent radius helps you:
⛳️ Control low point
🎯 Strike the ball before the ground
💥 Improve centre contact
📈 Reduce fats and thins
Better golf isn’t always about swinging faster — sometimes it’s simply about making the bottom of your swing more predictable.
Control the radius ➡️ control the low point ➡️ control your strike.

LOWER-BODY ACTION ⬆️🏌️♂️
Through impact, the lower body isn’t just about turning as hard as you can.
As the hips continue to move forward, the legs begin to push upward, helping the pelvis come out of its forward tilt and allowing the hips to keep turning through the shot.
Think:
➡️ Hips forward
⬆️ Legs push up ( tuck hips)
🔄 Pelvis extends & turns
Getting these movements working together can help create more space through impact and allow the club to release without getting stuck.

✅I know who got my vote!
Struggling with a slice? 🏌️♂️
The bowler drill is a great way to feel the club working more in-to-out through impact and start turning that slice into a draw. ↗️
