- Another easy off-track wander through beautiful, open wandoo woodlands, with some jarrah forest, shrubland and heathland; and across low, laterite-capped hills and ridges.
- But also yet another area of the Darling Range under future threat from mining:

⚒️⚒️⚒️ ⚒️ The majority of this area and the walk route will eventually be devastated by bauxite mining, like so much of the Darling Range - unless saved through the growing public outcry.

>> Here's a circuit walk route that's shorter than Dwellingup's nearby Nyingarn Bidi Loop Trail, yet offers good variety & more challenge for the adventurous.
>> Includes half of King Jarrah Trail & short section of the Bibbulmun Track.
>> Two river crossings not to be attempted when river is flowing!)

>> An adventure in the narrow upper Canning River valley downstream of Turtle Pool about 30km SE of Armadale.
>> Large sloping granite outcrops with good views.
>> Visit deep pools and occasional rapids along the river and traces of the route of an historic 1890’s-1930’s logging railway formation.
(Note: This walk area is located more than 5km SE of Canning Reservoir and does not enter a prohibited access Reservoir Protection Zone.)

🥾🥾 ‘Occidental Rock’ walk (15km circuit)
The rock is just one of the features of this worthwhile bushwalking experience near Mount Dale. Pleasant sections of open, mixed jarrah-marri forest and the historic ‘footprint’ of an extensive bush railway network that was operating in the early 1900’s. The Little Darkin River flows after winter rains.
