Recycle Bicycle will also be moving, and I'm hoping to continue the collab. with Planet Skate, at a new location.

Please SHARE, some one you know, may know of somewhere 'ready to go.'

ALSO I'll be looking for about 100 volunteers to help move bikes in a few weeks πŸ˜† πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸš΄πŸš΄πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

I should point out that we are still open for business for now and we Intend to find another premises.
Now is when we need your support more than ever! Come for a skate!
But we are short on time so we need some help!
I should also clarify that We weren’t β€œkicked out” so Much as been asked to vacate.
The building is old. Some of you may remember its previous lives before Planet Skate or Planet X. It needs a lot of work and we are in the way.. or something like that.

πŸ‘‰ An interesting story connected to this "1937 Malvern Star 'Deluxe' Roadster". A young boy of 15 years old purchased this top of the MS 'roadster' range bicycle new in 1937. Like many others in that era, he lied about his age and went to WW2 at 17. Sadly he did not return.

His younger brother held onto his bike, and had it professionally repainted in time, thought to be restored in the 1980's. Note the fine pinstriping incl. on the 'westwood' (flat) rims. The brand also carefully painted by a talented hand, as was common of the era.

The bike changed hands, perhaps after the younger brother passed away, and went to be displayed in Holland Park Cycles in Brisbane for a few decades. (ironically I grew up in the neighbouring suburb of Mt Gravatt) After Holland Park Cycles closed circa 2017, it again changed hands through a few serious collectors, before being picked up by a Malvern Star enthusiast, local to Port Macquarie, recently.

Not completely original parts, but close to original fitout. (3 speed hub, lever brake, Major Taylor stem, BSA crank)

The original owner's name is still being researched to complete the story.

This weekend, this bike was in the Recycle Bicycle workshop πŸš΄πŸ”§ for some fresh cables and a tune up, now rideable and to be added to a private Malvern Star collection.

LEST WE FORGET the sacrifices of those brave soldiers, and the families they left behind, to give us the freedom's we share today.

Recollections like these honour their memory, and a tangible items like this bicycle, personify the connection to the past. Hopefully in future the boy's / family's name and a portrait backdrop can be added to complete the story, and publicly displayed again to keep the memory and story alive.
