A little reflection from Miss Simone 💙

Yesterday, our Hype Competition Teams took the stage for their second last competition of 2026, and I walked away feeling so incredibly proud.

Not just of the performances or results, but of everything these teams represent.

Proud of every dancer who stepped on stage and gave it their all. Proud of those cheering from the audience. Proud of how our dancers supported each other and interacted with other studios.

Proud of our Senior team, who faced hurdles yesterday but showed such resilience, danced so well, and were wonderful role models for our younger dancers.

And proud of the beautiful community we’ve built. 💙

Watching dancers of different ages playing, laughing, hanging out and cheering each other on between performances is something pretty special. Those little moments remind me what Hype is all about.

We had some unreal results yesterday, and they deserve to be celebrated! But competition at Hype has never been about being the best or taking home the most trophies.

It’s about giving every dancer the chance to step on stage and shine. To feel like the superstar they deserve to feel like. To be supported, encouraged and celebrated, whatever the result.

It’s about building confidence, resilience, friendships and a genuine love of dance.

And yesterday, I saw all of that.

Looking back at where we started this year, where we were a few years ago, and how far we’ve come, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built.

Not because of the trophies on our shelves, but because of the dancers, people and community we’ve become.

Community. Respect. Perseverance.

They’re not just words on a wall. They’re values I hope our dancers carry long after they leave Hype, and yesterday I watched them come to life over and over again.

To our dancers, teachers and families, thank you for making Hype what it is. I’m so proud of what we’re building together.

One last competition next weekend, and I can’t wait to watch our teams take the stage again.

What a season 2026 has already been. 🥹💙

What a huge day — turning 18 AND officially graduating high school! 🎓✨

We are so incredibly proud of you and have absolutely loved watching you grow into the beautiful, kind and talented young woman you are today.

From student to teacher and our absolute acro superstar 🤸🏼‍♀️, we feel so lucky to have you as such a special part of our Hype family.

💛 R U OK? Day at HYPE 💛

Last week, our Youth and Pre-Senior teams spent some time stepping away from dancing and talking about something just as important — how we deal with the tricky stuff.

🍩 Our Youth Team enjoyed some delicious donuts while working through our “Do-Not Keep It Inside” activity. We talked through different scenarios, how they might make us feel, who we could talk to about them, and most importantly — what we could actually say when we need help.

🍦 With our Pre-Senior Team, we talked about problems using ice cream (and of course ate some too!). If you hold ice cream in your hand and do nothing about it, it starts to melt. The longer you hold onto it, the bigger and stickier the mess becomes.

Sometimes our problems can be a bit like that too. When we hold onto things and keep them to ourselves, they can start to feel bigger and harder to manage.

So, over ice cream, we chatted about different problems we might face, what we could do about them, who we could go to, and how we could start that conversation.

Dance teaches so much more than steps.
Building confident, resilient young people who know that they never have to keep the hard stuff inside is pretty important to us too. 💙
