Set on 15 acres of water-bound, lush bush land, with a backdrop of one of Tasmania’s most historic landmarks, The Shot Tower, the Estate’s sprawling grounds and exceptional facilities offer a feast of possibilities for any function. You can feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of Hobart, whilst being only a 12 minute drive from the CBD. Glen Albyn Estate boasts four signature events spaces, each with its own special ambiance and appeal:
The magnificent Riverview Deck, home to the Nuptial Tree, which looks out over the sparkling waters. There’s also the Atrium, with its high cathedral glass ceiling and full-length windows looking out to the mouth of the Derwent and beyond, it's the ideal place for an intimate occasion. The next breathtaking space is the Pool Room, with its ‘walk on water’ transparent flooring and fibre-optic mood lighting playing on the ripples below as guests gather for drinks, sit down for a wonderful meal or dance the night away. And last, but certainly not least, is the Conservatory, where a huge marquee covers Glen Albyn Estate's tennis court and is the perfect space for large corporate events and functions, hosting a dining space for a maximum of around 400 guests. And of course you can expect to be surprised and delighted by the way our chefs and hospitality specialists will cater for your event. We take pride in showcasing the flavours and colours of Tasmania’s superb food and wine, which is thoughtfully sourced from our island’s fertile farmlands, cool-climate vineyards and pristine seas. Another arm of business is BW Events which enables us to host events in other memorable Southern Tasmanian locations – perhaps Hobart’s waterfront pavilions, PW1 or MAC; the historic forecourt of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery; even on the stage of Australia’s oldest theatre, the Theatre Royal.
