Shayno from Townsville is back and ready to light up the NQ Burnouts pad once again in our Open Class!

No stranger to our events, Shayno has been competing all across Far North Queensland and has scored numerous podium finishes along the way.

With plenty of experience behind the wheel, Toothless is always a crowd favourite and a serious contender whenever it hits the pad!

NQ Burnouts Round 1 at the Cairns International Speedway 4th of July!

🏁 POTENZA MOTORSPORTS – V8 CLASS WINNER! 🏁

A massive congratulations to Potenza Motorsports team member Mat Storer for taking out 1st Place in the V8 Class this weekend at SKIDFEST 2026, Charters Towers QLD! 🏆🔥

This achievement makes it even more impressive considering it was Mat's first time competing in the V8 Class and his first time ever competing in a Holden. After this result, we have to ask the question...

Is it time to swap the Ford for a Holden, Mat? 😉

What makes this win even more special is the story behind it. After suffering gearbox failure in his STOCKAS Falcon while competing in the 6 Cylinder Class, Mat's weekend looked like it could have been over. Instead, the motorsport community stepped up.

A huge thank you goes to Shayno Collyer for generously lending Mat his car, "Toothless," giving him the opportunity to continue competing. That act of sportsmanship led directly to an unforgettable V8 Class victory.

We would also like to thank all the competitors, crew members, friends and spectators who jumped in to lend a hand and help diagnose and repair the gearbox issues. The support shown throughout the weekend was nothing short of incredible.

This is exactly what motorsport is all about — competitors helping competitors, mates backing mates, and everyone coming together for the love of the sport.

At Potenza Motorsports, this is the kind of culture we want to see more of throughout the motorsport industry. The camaraderie, sportsmanship and willingness to help one another are what make events like SKIDFEST so special.

Well we're do i even start! Charters towers skidfest was an absolute blast!

To start off the day Mat Storer in Stockas burnouts unfortunately blew a pump seal in his c4 trans (suspect relief valve jammed)
And we could not let him feel defeated again so I did what any good mate would do and I signed the keys over for Toothless - Burnout Car now keep in mind NO ONE! has ever comp skidded my car before apart from me! so knowing how well this bloke can bloody steer we signed the paper! And holy!! He did not disappoint!!! He licked the stamp and sent it! Taking out first place in the v8 class in a rental 🤣

I unfortunately played abit to hard and got stuck having to reverse in the 1st round then locking the front up in the 2nd passing the entry cones a little to deep up the chute 😅 so we partied and the finals skid for matty I stepped aside and entrusted him to go out solo with his lovely parter maddi,

So proud of this bloke and as always toothless drove back in the trailer ready for a service and go again for round 1 at NQ Burnouts in cairns 4th july!! We are back on! 💪💪

Lastly thank you so much to all the competitors and staff especially the nq staff for stepping up to help out official and crew for the event, especially my amazing wife Tynelle Collyer from evelyn photographics for stepping upto the plate controlling the gate and getting the cars through quickly by the end of the night 🙏🙏
