BTTA 2024 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Its on, ZTTU is on a roll to capacitate umpires and train participants on anti doping. As there has been an increase in the use of unwanted substances, knowingly and unknowingly, by athletes across different sporting codes, table tennis is no exception and this move by Zimbabwe Table Tennis Union - ZTTU surely seeks to curb such. SEBELE ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY

Botswana's renowned international Umpire Rita Sebele, is currently in Turkey, Antalya to officiate the WTT Youth Contender Antalya 2024 from January 16 to 19, 2024. Following that, she will head to Qatar to officiate at the WTT Youth Contender Doha 2024 from January 22 to 25 .

The Zimbabwe Table Tennis Union - ZTTU has rolled out its 2024 calendar of events and interestingly, apart from the ITTF Southern Africa Region tournament billed for June in Angola, ZTTU has proved beyond reasonable doubt, their interest in fostering great working relationships with sister associations as they have included in their calendar, a tour to Botswana. It is our believe that this is to attend the annual Botswana International Tournament which is held every December by the Botswana Table Tennis Association.

BTTA SET TO HOST COACHING SERMINAR.

Botswana Table Tennis Association will host a coaching course seminar on 13th to 14th January 2024 at Ave Marea conference facility. The primary focus of this seminar is to empower female coaches, marking a significant step towards fostering gender inclusivity in the sport. The seminar will be co-led by Boitshwarelo Butale, a level 2 coach who has also benefited from the ITTF My Gender, My Strength program. This coaching course seminar is a continuation of the My Gender, My Strength ITTF project that Boitshwarelo Butale attended last year in Namibia.

This initiative serves as a testament to the efforts being made to support and develop female coaches in table tennis fraternity. By equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge, this seminar is poised to make a positive impact on the sport locally and regionally.
