Botswana Shines at World Tennis J30 🏆🇧🇼

Martin Seetso and Angela Chakanyuka are World Tennis J30 doubles champions! 🎾🏆

Angela Chakanyuka and her French partner Ines Fouque defeated Namibia’s Joanivia Bezuidenhout and Mari van Schalkwyk 7-5, 6-2 to clinch the Girls Doubles gold medals.

In the Boys Doubles, Martin Seetso and Vladimir Ignatov of South Africa defeated South African pair Connor Miller and Frederick Johannes Rheeder 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 to claim the gold medals.

In the Singles finals:
🥇 Boys Singles: Jack Thornhill (South Africa) defeated Connor Miller (South Africa) 6-1, 3-6, 7-5.

🥇 Girls Singles: Mari van Schalkwyk (Namibia) defeated Joanivia Bezuidenhout (Namibia) 6-2, 6-4.

Great news from the World Tennis J30 hosted at the National Tennis Center!

Angela Chakanyuka and Ines Fouque of France have reached the Girls Doubles final after defeating Zimbabwe’s Rutendo Tom and Zibowa Regina Nandipha 6-3, 6-0 in the semi-finals.

They will face Namibia’s Joanivia Bezuidenhout and Mari van Schalkwyk in tomorrow’s final — a No. 1 vs No. 2 clash. 🔥

In the Boys Doubles, Martin Seetso and Vladimir Ignatov of South Africa defeated fellow South Africans Jack Thornhill and Juvan Van Pletzen 7-6(5), 6-4 to reach the final.

They will face the South African pair of Connor Miller and Frederick Johannes Rheeder tomorrow.

Angela Chakanyuka and Martin Seetso have reached the doubles semi-finals at the World Tennis J30 hosted at the National Tennis Center.

🇧🇼 Angela Chakanyuka & Ines Fouque (France) defeated the South African/British pair of Kayleigh Stayt and Ginjupalli Annapoorna 6-4, 6-1. Angela and Ines will face the Zimbabwean pair of Rutendo Tom and Zibowa Regina Nandipha today for a place in the final.

🇧🇼 Martin Seetso & Ijgnatov Vladimir (South Africa) defeated the South African pair of Noah Parker and Trikamjee Veer 3-6, 7-6(5), 10-4 in a thrilling encounter. Martin and Vladimir will now face another South African pair, Jack Thornhill and Juvan Van Pletzen, in today's semi-final.

Botswana U12 Teams in Action in Mozambique 🇧🇼🎾

After a couple of days of being rained out in Mozambique, the Botswana National Under-12 teams finally got their tournament underway.

The Girls National Under-12 team made an excellent start, defeating Mozambique 3–0. They will take on the Republic of South Africa tomorrow.

The Boys National Under-12 team narrowly lost a tough and closely contested tie 2–1 to Namibia. They will face Madagascar tomorrow.

Well done to both teams for representing Botswana with pride, determination and fighting spirit. 👏🇧🇼

The Botswana National Under-12 teams begin their campaign at the World Tennis/Africa Tennis Team Championships today in Maputo, Mozambique. 🇧🇼🎾

The Boys team will take on Lesotho, while the Girls team will face Angola.

BOTSWANA TO COMPETE IN THE 2026 SOUTHERN AFRICA 12 & UNDER JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Botswana will compete in the 2026 Southern Africa 12 & Under Junior Team Competition which will be held in Maputo, Mozambique, from 11 to 15 August 2026

The competition serves as a qualifier for the African Junior Teams’ Competition (AJTC) 12 & Under and is organized by the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) in conjunction with the World Tennis. The event will feature teams from across the Southern African region, including Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
