Proud of all our athletes for an incredible performance at BCSS Provincials and Onni Open! 🤼‍♀️ 🤼‍♂️

Gurnoor Mangat
A grade 9 student representing W.J. Mouat, Gurnoor earned silver in one of the toughest weight classes. He showed great wrestling and determination. One of the hardest workers in the room. He also helped W.J. Mouat secure a 2nd-place team trophy.

Gurpartap Ghuman
A grade 12 student representing MEI, Gurpartap earned his first provincial medal with a silver finish. After withdrawing from last year’s provincials due to injury, he returned this season with determination and resilience to get the provincial medal and will build on this for the nationals.

Stany Ponce
A grade 9 student representing DW Poppy, Stany made an impressive statement in his first year of wrestling. Competing in the 100kg division at the Onni Open, Stany captured gold without surrendering a single point, outscoring his opponents 24–0. He is just getting started.

Jorawar Dhadwal
A grade 10 student from ATSS, Jorawar continued his steady rise this season as one of the most improved wrestlers. In his first year qualifying for the Provincials, Jorawar battled to a strong 5th-place finish, showing significant growth and determination.

Jindan Bhangal
A grade 8 student representing Abby Middle, Jind competed with determination and earned a 6th-place finish at provincials. Despite being one of the youngest competitors in her division, and facing the eventual champion and National Team member, Jindan demonstrated resilience and toughness.

Ekam Dhaliwal & Jashen Dhaliwal
Grade 8 students Ekam Dhaliwal (ATSS) and Jashen Dhaliwal (MEI) both competed in the Onni Open. Ekam finished 5th after a narrow semifinal loss, showing strong promise and competitive spirit. Jashen battled hard in the 60kg division, finishing with a 2–2 record. Both young wrestlers gained valuable experience and represented the club with pride.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, growth, and performances of all our athletes. The team now looks ahead to the upcoming BCWA Club Championships and the Canadian National Championships, where they aim to continue building on this successful season.
