An incredible weekend of rugby culminated in the ultimate reward as this outstanding group of athletes battled through every challenge to stand atop the podium. Their commitment, resilience, teamwork, and determination were on display from the first kickoff to the championship final.

This gold medal is the result of countless hours of training, sacrifice, and belief. Every athlete embraced their role, supported one another, and proudly represented the Niagara Rugby Union with passion and class.

Niagara Rugby Union is fired up to announce the athletes selected to represent Team White and Team Yellow in the Girls’ Rugby 7s competition at the 2026 Ontario Summer Games!

The action kicks off July 31 and August 1 in Waterloo, but the experience begins tonight as our athletes proudly walk together in the Opening Ceremonies Parade of Athletes. 🙌

Two teams. One union. One incredible opportunity to compete, represent and make memories on the provincial stage.

Congratulations to every athlete selected, along with the coaches, clubs, families and supporters who helped make this moment possible.

There is still time to register for tomorrow’s Niagara Rugby Union Ontario Summer Games 7s Tryout / ID Session for U18 Boys and Girls.

This is your chance to represent NRU Thunder at the 2026 Ontario Summer Games Rugby 7s competition in Waterloo over the August long weekend.

Oakville Crusaders Rugby Club

Open to U18 athletes — born 2008 and below.

Selected athletes will take part in July training sessions, leading into the Ontario Summer Games competition from July 30 – August 2, 2026.

Estimated athlete cost is $500–$550, which includes kit, accommodations, athletic therapy, food, and the full Ontario Summer Games experience.
