As we get ready to begin another season, I’ve been reflecting on just how far we’ve come.
DB was founded in 1990, and I feel incredibly grateful to be part of a legacy that has inspired young people for more than 35 years. In 2013, I became the sole owner, beginning a very personal chapter filled with growth, challenges, dreams, and so many incredible people.
My goal was always to create a place of greatness within an art form I love so deeply. A place where young people could be challenged, work hard, dream big, and become the best versions of themselves.
From our youngest dancers taking their very first class, to our recreational, part-time, and elite dancers pursuing their own goals, every dancer and every journey matters. None is greater than another. Every dancer needs something different, and I’ve always wanted DB to be a place that recognizes and celebrates that.
One thing I pride myself on is seeing someone’s potential before they see it themselves—making dancers feel special, seen, capable, and like the main character in their own story. ✨
Over these 13 years, we’ve had so many success stories, and I love that they all look different. Some have pursued dance professionally or studied it at university. Others have carried the confidence, discipline, friendships, and life skills they developed through dance into completely different paths. And to me, that is just as special.
I see people. I see little dancers who have grown into incredible young adults. I see families who trusted us. I see friendships that have lasted years. I see dancers who once doubted themselves discover what they are capable of.
I’m grateful for every dancer who has walked through our doors, whether they stayed for 13 years or one season. Grateful for every family, teacher, and person who has helped shape DB into what it is today.

I am proud of the legacy that came before me, proud of the chapter I’ve been able to create, and even more excited for what is still ahead.
