It's hard to ask for a better Friday in Southern Alberta.

The sun is shining, the grass is green, and we have a full weekend of rugby ahead of us. From junior festivals to senior club matches, there will be rugby taking place across the region all weekend long.

The action gets underway tonight with Division 3 rugby:

Whether you're a lifelong rugby supporter or have never watched a match before, this weekend is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the game. Rugby offers something for everyone—fast-paced action, great sportsmanship, a welcoming community, and an atmosphere the whole family can enjoy.

Bring the kids, meet up with friends, enjoy the sunshine, and spend a few hours supporting local sport. There is no better place to be on a summer weekend than at a rugby pitch.

Clearwater Cup weekend was one for the books 🙌
From packed sidelines to nonstop rugby all weekend long, it was an incredible way to kick off the season.

Standard First Aid Certification Course

Have you always wanted to get your First Aid certification, or do you need to renew your current certification before the busy summer season?

We’re hosting a Standard First Aid Certification Course at the CRP Clubhouse on Sunday, May 31 for our staff and currently have a few additional spaces available.

Please feel free to share this with your coaches, volunteers, match officials, and club members. Spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly, so we encourage anyone interested to register early.

The Southern Alberta Mavericks Senior Men take on the Edmonton Gold today in the deciding match in the Battle of Alberta.

After splitting the first two matches, the series is tied 1–1 with everything on the line heading into today’s final game. Both teams have pushed each other over the past two weeks in two physical, fast-paced, and highly competitive matches, and today promises to be another outstanding showcase of rugby in Alberta.

Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM at Titans Rugby Field.

If you’re in the area, come on down and support some of the top rugby talent in the province as Southern Alberta and Edmonton battle for the series win and provincial bragging rights.

TBT to our 2025 End of Season Oktoberfest 🍻🏉

Hard to believe this was already at the end of the 2025 season. Fast forward to now and we’re only two weeks into the 2026 rugby season, but the rugby community is already back doing what it does best — filling the sidelines, supporting each other, reconnecting with friends, and making new memories every weekend ❤️

There’s already been so much great rugby, and the energy around the community has been amazing to see. And the best part? We’re only getting started. AC and AWP kick off after the long weekend, which means even more rugby, more road trips, more laughs, and more time together 🙌🏻🏉

Saturday is rugby day — and this is one of the best days at the park! ☀️

Day 2 of Clearwater Cup is underway and the park is absolutely full! Come down and catch some amazing games — everyone is welcome at the park.

Finals are happening on CRP1, followed by our senior divisions kicking off across CRP1-3 starting at 4:00.

There’s nothing quite like a full rugby park and the community that comes with it. Come down, watch some great rugby, and see what the rugby community is all about!

Not the update we were hoping for—our April 25 Try Rugby event at Calgary Rugby Park has been cancelled due to weather.

We’re disappointed, but this is just a small delay—not the end of the opportunity to get involved this season.

One of the best things about rugby is the community behind it. It’s more than just a game—it’s a family that welcomes players of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. That community is still here and ready to connect.

Many clubs across Calgary are hosting their own Try Rugby sessions over the coming weeks, and we’d be happy to help you find the right fit.
