With heartfelt remembrance for Carolyn Murphy, a founder whose vision helped shape our organizations, as we mark one year since her passing. Her immeasurable impact lives on through the legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit she built over 45 years.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone at the Murphy’s Pharmacies Community Centre.
After more than 20 years of dedicated service with us plus a couple years 😉 with the former Basilica Recreation Centre — Bernie Gallant is officially retiring.
Bernie has been the heart of main front office and the welcoming face so many have come to know over the years. As Office Manager, she was often the very first point of contact for everyone walking through our doors — always organized, always dependable, and always kind. Her commitment, professionalism, and genuine care for our community have helped shape the Centre into the special place it is today.
To say she will be missed is an understatement. We truly have big shoes to fill.
On behalf of our entire team and community members that regularly ulitize the centre — THANK YOU, Bernie, for your years of service, loyalty, and dedication. Your impact here will be felt for many years to come.
We wish you nothing but happiness, good health, and well-deserved relaxation and lots of biking 🚴 in your retirement.
Congratulations on your last day, Bernie — and thank you for everything!

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of longtime volunteer Rickey Burns.
Rickey was a cornerstone of the Murphy’s Pharmacies Community Centre for many years. He dedicated countless hours to running the Youth Bowling Canada (YBC) league, guiding and encouraging young bowlers in our community. He also gave his time generously to organize and volunteer at Special Olympics bowling nights, creating opportunities for athletes to enjoy the game he loved so much.
Through his dedication, patience, and kindness, Rickey touched the lives of so many young people and families. He was more than a volunteer—he was a mentor, a leader, and a true friend to the community.
Rickey will be greatly missed, and his legacy will continue to live on through the many bowlers and athletes he supported over the years.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Rickey’s family and friends. Thank you, Rickey, for all you did for our community. 💙

It is with great sadness that the Murphy Family announces the passing of Carolyn Murphy.
Carolyn’s contributions were instrumental to the success of our family-owned and operated businesses over the last 44 years. Since establishment, Carolyn has been visionary in her thinking and approach to business while also focussing on making positive impacts in PEI communities.
Despite her many entrepreneurial achievements, commitments, and responsibilities, she was most proud of her family, as a wife, mother, and nana. She will be truly missed.
The Murphy family would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding during this very difficult time.
