Everyone loves the look of a brand-new golf club. The shine, the finish, and that feeling of putting something beautiful in your bag before heading out onto the course.

But new clubs can be expensive.

That’s where Take a Mully Golf Polishing and Buffing Shop began—with a simple idea:

Why replace a good golf club when you can give it a second chance?

I’ve always enjoyed bringing old things back to life. I spent countless hours polishing and experimenting on used golf clubs that friends had laying around. Those clubs became my learning ground. I wanted to understand not only how to bring back the shine, but how to do it without over-polishing the club or taking away its original character.

I studied articles, experimented with different techniques, and kept refining my process. With every club, I learned a little more.

Over time, I developed my own buffing and polishing process designed to bring out the best in each club while respecting what makes it unique.

And that's what Take a Mully is all about.

A golf club doesn't have to be brand new to look great. Years of use may leave scratches, dull finishes, and signs of wear, but underneath all of that is a club with history—and often plenty of life left in it.

Then came Molly, the character behind the name.

I designed Molly with inspiration from the early days of golf, giving the brand a connection to the game's history and old-school character. The idea for her design even started with something unexpected: the cap of a SodaStream bottle, I traced the circle of the cap, then gave it life.

Molly represents the spirit of Take a Mully—taking something that has been used, appreciating its history, and giving it another chance to shine.

Every golf club has a story.

Maybe it helped someone hit their first birdie. Maybe it was part of a memorable round with friends. Maybe it has simply spent years sitting in the corner, waiting to be picked up again.

He lived across the street from the golf course, and in September 1913 he beat the two best players in the world on it with a ten year old carrying his bag. ⛳

Francis Ouimet was twenty, the son of French Canadian and Irish immigrant parents, and he worked in a sporting goods shop in Boston. He had grown up at 246 Clyde Street in Brookline, directly opposite The Country Club, and had learned the game by knocking balls around a makeshift three hole layout in the field behind the house and by caddying. He entered the U.S. Open only after his employer was persuaded to give him the time off.

The championship was supposed to belong to Harry Vardon and Ted Ray, the two great British professionals, over on tour. Instead all three finished on 304 and went to an eighteen hole playoff on a wet Saturday. 🌧️

Ouimet's caddie was Eddie Lowery, ten years old, who had skipped school for the week and had to dodge a truant officer to be there. Lowery carried the bag, told him to keep his eye on the ball and not look up, and refused to be replaced when an older caddie was offered. Ouimet shot 72 to Vardon's 77 and Ray's 78, in front of a soaked crowd of thousands running between shots. 🏌️

American golf had roughly 350,000 players before that afternoon. Within a decade it had around two million, and it had stopped being a game imported from Britain for people with money.

One local kid, one small caddie and one wet Saturday changed who the sport belonged to. What single afternoon do you think opened something up for everybody who came after?
