It serves as a permanent, non-religious, late-May statutory holiday that marks the unofficial start of summer!

The weather is turning, and the days are longer. We are open from 7 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.

Hyland Ready Mix poured the concrete for Courtenay’s new 4 m wide 6th Street Active Transportation Bridge. This bridge design is the same concept as the larger Port Man and Alex Fraser Bridges.

What makes this project especially interesting is how it’s being built:
* A modern cable-stayed design that uses materials efficiently
* No supports in the river, helping protect the surrounding environment
* A smoother, more accessible experience for users of all abilities

After an extensive and sustained advocacy by CHBA (incl. a letter written to the Government House Leader earlier this week to get through the last hurdle), Bill C-4, the legislation containing the revised GST rebate for first-time buyers, finally received Royal Assent.
