We’re happy to announce that, with repairs to the recreation centre roof beginning this week, work will also begin July 6 to reinstall the gymnasium wall panels. While this project has been highly anticipated, it will also cause some service disruptions for approximately one month to those of you who frequent our gymnasium.
How access to the gymnasium will be affected:
On Monday, July 6, the gymnasium will be closed. All gymnasium-based programs will be cancelled.
From July 7 until approximately August 7, we will endeavour to keep one half of the gymnasium open at all times. Drop-in programs will continue to be offered at their regular times, with the understanding that only half of the gymnasium will be available and there may be noise and other construction-related distractions from the other half of the room. There may be brief periods within that timeframe that we have to close the gymnasium entirely, but we will strive to keep these disruptions to a minimum and give our patrons as much notice as possible.
No other facilities will be affected. The Cultural Centre, fitness studio and squash courts will all remain open as per usual.
