An adventure paddle. Today we loaded up an OC6 and OC2 and spent the day paddling at Lake Cowichan. About 18 kms with a break for a picnic and swim. A perfect day!

The morning paddle was windy! 💨🌊🌊🌊 Somehow, we were paddling into the wind going to Salt Spring Island, then it reversed and hit us again on the way back. But, at least it is still Summer paddling. 😎

The club had a 16 km paddle to Burial Island and Salt Spring Island. We had an extremely low tide and fast currents through the Sansum Narrows.

How fortunate are we? ...we had two Humpback Whales pass by on our paddle today! 🐋👏👌🙌🐋 An hour before we started, Orcas also passed by Maple Bay.

It was a windy Saturday morning paddle, but it made for some good surfing on the way back to Maple Bay.
