Meet-in-the-Middle Milonga!

Crofton Community Centre has a superb and huge wooden dance floor, supercharged air conditioning, good sound system, and a view of the harbour if you care to look. We are delighted to welcome Keith Beldam as our DJ for our September milonga.
Keith's biography: "Keith’s introduction to Argentine tango began in 2001, thanks to the encouragement of Michael Young and Beatrix Satzinger. They persuaded Keith to join their Salt Spring class for tango lessons, which proved to be a pivotal moment in his career in Argentine tango. Following this initial experience, Keith became their teaching assistant in Mexico, further deepening his connection to the art of tango.
From 2002 to 2007, Keith made annual trips to Buenos Aires, spending three months each year immersed in studying and dancing tango. During his early visits, his first instructor in Argentina was Eduardo Saucedo, and in 2005, he had the opportunity to study with the renowned Carlos Gavito.
In 2005, while in Buenos Aires, Keith received a special invitation to step inside the DJ booth at Club Gricel. This experience marked the beginning of his exploration into the world of tango music. Guided by Carlos Gavito’s inspiration, Keith developed a deep appreciation for the history of tango music and learned how to curate tandas that enhance dancers’ enjoyment and understanding.
If you have attended a milonga DJ’ed by Keith, you will be familiar with several of his signature elements: Keith has a particular fondness for the Golden Years of tango music. He is renowned for his themed cortinas, adding a distinctive flair to each event. Milongas led by Keith traditionally conclude with two versions of "La Comparsita"—because, in his words, one simply isn’t enough."
