Tech Takeover: RVT Edition 👩‍⚕️🐴
Today, Lauren and Kendra traded one busy schedule for another! The morning was spent out on the road caring for our patients, followed by an afternoon sharing knowledge with horse owners during an Equine Vital Signs & Health Check seminar.

From patient care to client education, our RVTs do so much more than assist—they’re educators, advocates, and an essential part of keeping horses healthy.

🚨 Air Quality Alert for Horse Owners 🐴
With wildfire smoke affecting air quality across our region, it’s important to remember that our horses can be impacted too.
Here are a few ways to help reduce the effects of poor air quality:
🐎 Limit strenuous exercise
💧 Ensure fresh, clean water is always available
🌾 Offer good quality, dust-free hay. Soaking hay may help reduce dust exposure for sensitive horses.
🌬️ If available, provide access to a well-ventilated barn or shelter during periods of the heaviest smoke—but avoid closing barns up completely, as good airflow is still important.
👀 Monitor your horse closely for coughing, nasal discharge, increased respiratory effort, or reduced performance.
Most healthy horses tolerate short periods of smoky conditions well, but those with respiratory conditions, foals, and senior horses may be more susceptible.
If you notice any signs of respiratory distress or have concerns about your horse, don’t hesitate to contact your veterinarian.
