Congratulations to GP Dinosaurs on winning the 2026 Challenger Cup trophy! Your skill, teamwork, and determination throughout the tournament have earned you this well-deserved title.

A special congratulations also to GP Lions for finishing as runners‑up. Reaching the final by defeating FOUR strong teams is in itself a major achievement. Hold your heads high, be proud of your performance, and use this experience as motivation as you look ahead to the 2027 season.

🏆 2026 Challenger Cup Champions: GP Dinosaurs Take the Crown! 🏆

What a phenomenal conclusion to the 2026 Challenger Cup! In a high-stakes final match, GP Dinosaurs delivered a dominant all-round performance to secure a commanding 69-run victory over GP Lions.

💥 First Innings: Fireworks from the Dinosaurs
After electing to bat, GP Dinosaurs set a massive target of 195 runs, powered by top-order brilliance:

Manan Shah (c) led from the front with an explosive 77 runs off 42 balls (11 fours, 1 six).

Nishant Patel anchored the innings alongside him with a stunning 74 runs off 50 balls (9 fours, 2 sixes).

Together, Shah and Patel built a game-changing 144-run partnership for the second wicket, taking total control of the match.

For GP Lions, Sandeep Singh, Kawalpreet Singh, Manroop Goraya, and Sukhjit Singh picked up a wicket each to slow the late charge, but the damage was already done.

🎯 Second Innings: Clinical Bowling Attack
Chasing 196 for victory, GP Lions ran into immediate trouble against a fired-up Dinosaurs attack, losing early wickets and falling to 6/3 within the first two overs.

Tarlochan Singh (25 off 11) and Manroop Goraya (28 off 21) showed resilience in the middle, but regular breakthroughs kept the chase well out of reach.

Ankit Patel set the tone early with crucial strikes, finishing with 3/21 in 3 overs.

Suneel Jaglan cleaned up the middle/lower order with 3/21 in 3 overs.

Manan Shah rounded off a stellar captain's performance with 1/18 in 3 overs, alongside tidy spells from Viral Patel, Chetan Dhingra, and Er Ankit Bhagat.

GP Lions 150/8 (Goraya 32, Singh 27, Singh 2-21) beat GP Stallions 148/10 (Butt 30, Singh 26, Randhawa 2-27) by 2 Wickets

Series Qualifier 2 Goes Down to the Wire

The 2026 Challenger Cup Qualifier 2 had a nail-biting encounter on 09/19/2026, as GP Lions managed to overcome GP Stallions by a mere two wickets. The home side, GP Stallions, won the toss and elected to bat, setting a challenging target that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats until the final delivery.

Stallions Set a Respectable Total Despite Wicket Woes

GP Stallions, after being put in to bat, managed to post a total of 148 runs before being bowled out in 20 overs. The innings saw a shaky start during the Powerplay, with early wickets falling. However, Ali Butt anchored the innings with a steady 30 runs off 29 balls, including a couple of sixes. Sandeepkumar Singh also contributed a valuable 26 from 24 deliveries. The middle overs saw a flurry of wickets, with Chanpreet Randhawa being the chief destroyer for GP Lions, picking up 2 wickets in the 7th over, including the crucial scalp of Sandeepkumar Singh. Despite the consistent pressure from the GP Lions bowlers, GP Stallions managed to cross the 100-run mark in the 14th over, and though they lost several wickets towards the end, including a couple of retired out instances, they managed to set a defendable total.

The 2026 Challenger Cup's last league game witnessed a high-octane encounter on 09/12/2026, as the GP Knights secured a commanding 50-run victory over the GP Panthers. The Knights, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a formidable total, setting the stage for a comprehensive win.

Knights' Explosive Innings

The GP Knights unleashed a batting onslaught, largely driven by a spectacular century from Tony Thomas. Thomas was in scintillating form, smashing 143 runs off just 51 balls, a knock adorned with 6 boundaries and an astounding 17 sixes. His blistering strike rate of 280.39 set the tone for the innings. Arindam Nandy provided excellent support with a fluent 75 from 40 deliveries, featuring 4 fours and 7 sixes.
