We're back for the second day of Alberta Culture Days with the Beaverlodge Area Cultural Society.
It looks like we already have bids for art by Euphemia McNaught and Irene Pearcy.
The family of Irene and Gord Pearcy donated about 60 pieces from their collection, and these are the final 9 that will go towards the programming for our barrier-free camp and outdoor experiences.
Come on out for a lovely day of free experiences at the Arts and Cultural Centre.
To bid on any of the art, we use the Zeffy platform because it doesn't charge platform fees, monthly subscription fees, transaction fees, or credit card processing fees.

Art for Sale!

A hidden piece of Peace Country art history and a collection supporting Camp Tamarack.

Sometimes you find more than you expected.

In 2023, Camp Tamarack received a generous collection of artwork from the Gordon and Irene Pearcy family. While board members were cataloguing the collection, they discovered something remarkable: tucked inside the frame behind another painting was a small work on paper by renowned Peace Country artist Euphemia “Betty” McNaught.

Titled Above Kakwa Falls and dated 1994, the piece measures approximately 9" × 5". On the back is written:

“Above Kakwa Falls – 1994 – Happy New Year – Isabel & Betty”

That unexpected discovery is now part of this special online auction, along with eight other remaining works from the Pearcy collection, including pieces by Irene Pearcy.

Even better, the artwork is helping write another story.

100% of the auction proceeds go directly to Camp Tamarack Association, supporting camp experiences and programs for children, youth and people with and without disabilities from across our region and beyond.

Camp Tamarack is at the Beaverlodge Art & Culture Centre on September 12–13, 2026, as part of its Alberta Culture Days celebrations. The auction pieces will be on display at our booth throughout the weekend, including Above Kakwa Falls.

Bidding takes place online through Camp Tamarack's Zeffy auction.

Whether you're drawn by a piece of local history, looking for original artwork, or simply want to support Camp Tamarack, place a bid and help give one of these pieces its next home.

🌟 Meet Trace! 🌟

Bringing creativity, climbing, and some seriously cool maker skills to Camp Tamarack! 🎨🧗

Trace is joining us from Sheffield, England, for his first season as a Camp Leader! His favourite colour is pink, and back home he has two cats named Milo and Luna. 🐱

With a background in art, design, and computer graphics, Trace loves creating in just about every way—digitally, by hand, through videos, and even with a sewing machine. He can make his own plushies! 🧵

But Trace isn’t afraid to trade the art supplies for a little outdoor adventure either. He loves climbing and playing games and is loving the outdoor and wilderness this summer. 🔥
