Just over a week left of our annual aquatics maintenance shutdown and several major maintenance and repair projects are now complete as the facility prepares to reopen on October 1.

The hot tubs and 25 m pool are filled, and the lazy river will begin filling soon! Water testing will also begin as we prepare for reopening.

The aquatics area remains on track to reopen October 1, pending final maintenance and operational work. The wading pool and splash pad will remain closed for approximately two additional weeks as repairs are completed.

We look forward to sharing another update when we are ready to welcome swimmers back!

We’re halfway through our annual aquatics shutdown, and work continues to progress throughout the aquatics area at Eastlink Centre! 💧

Recent work includes paint touch-ups throughout the pool area, splash pad feature inspections and tile grouting and repairs in the hot tubs, change rooms and steam rooms. The volcano feature is also getting a fiery facelift.

Several waterline repairs have been completed throughout the facility, while pool process piping repairs continue. Work is also underway with the thermostatic mixing valves for the change room showers, and the pool deck drainage systems have been steam cleaned.

Warranty repairs are underway on the Lazy River liner to address the rippling that has developed since it was replaced last year. Inspection and cleaning of the 25 m pool is also ongoing.

Work will continue across the aquatics area over the next two weeks as we prepare to welcome swimmers back.

The annual aquatics shutdown runs from September 1 to September 31, with the aquatics area reopening on October 1.
