North American Big Game Challenge. Hosted by Northumberland Strait Shooters Archery Club
Something exciting is coming on September 13th for our annual shoot!
For years, we’ve shot targets out to a maximum of 30, 40, and 50 yards at our annual shoots. This year, we wanted to switch things up, so we created the North American Big Game Challenge—giving archers the opportunity to test their skills at distances out to 80 yards!
🏹 Distance Classes
Trad Archers: Maximum 40 yards
Hunters: Maximum 60 yards
Open: Maximum 80 yards
We’ll be using AC shooting and equipment rules to keep things simple.
Stakes
We’ll have two sets of stakes:
• Regular AC class: 15, 30, 40 and 50 yards — white, white, green and orange stakes
• Big Game Challenge: A second set of stakes for those wanting to participate in the fun distance classes
Shooting Rules
• Trad Archers will be allowed 2 arrows
• All other classes will shoot 1 arrow
• Block Targets will be placed behind the 3D targets on the maximum-distance targets to help catch arrows that happen to miss low.
• The 11-ring will be worth 12 points for the day from both sets of stakes
And most importantly, if you’re not comfortable shooting from an assigned stake, you can move in to a distance you’re comfortable with.
Come out, have some fun, and see what you can do!
