What a phenomenal weekend of bowls at the club as we hosted the 3rd Annual Wanderers Open Pairs! The event brought together 12 teams from all over Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to battle it out for the largest prize purse in Nova Scotia lawn bowls!
Congrats to Steve Ogden and Vicki Balcom on winning this year’s championship in a 14-7 Flight final win over Lindsay LeFresne and Luke Guthro. In the A Flight Final, it was Mark Robar and Matt Sebastian who won top honours defeating John Siteman and Carissa Lynch 13-3. In the B Flight final, it was a hard fought victory for Don Murchy and Patti Granville over their clubmates Greg Heatherington and Kevin Stewart.
Thanks to Cameron Lefresne and Mark Singer for organizing the event, John Siteman for doubling as official scorer, the many volunteers who assisted with the meals and helping the players out and to HRM Parks and Recreation for having the green in the best condition of the year- which led to top class bowls all weekend long!

Hey Wanderers members! Come on down to the club after the Halifax Pride Parade this Saturday and join the members of HRM Pride Bowls for an afternoon around the greens having some fun, socializing and even having some bowls fun with a jitney. Should be a fun day!

With the extremely warm weather today, now that the temps have started to ease off into the late evening- it was nice to see an impromptu evening late jitney under the lights hit the greens tonight. If this looks like fun, make sure to join us on Wednesday nights starting at 8:30pm all summer long for fun late evenings on and off the greens!
