📣 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: TOURNAMENT CHAIR

West Ferris Ringette is looking for a Tournament Chair for the Agnes Jacks Memorial Tournament, taking place January 15–17, 2027!

The Tournament Chair will lead the planning and organization of this annual event while working collaboratively with the WFRA Board of Directors, tournament committee and volunteers.

Last year’s tournament was a huge success, and we’re excited to build on that momentum! This special event brings our ringette community together while proudly celebrating North Bay as the Birthplace of Ringette.

West Ferris Ringette is currently seeking a volunteer to fill the position of Ways and Means Director for a one-year term ending in May 2027.

The Ways and Means Director is responsible for:

🔹 Submitting monthly bingo reports and annual Nevada account reports to the City of North Bay
🔹 Coordinating biweekly bingos
🔹 Working collaboratively with the board and other members to help facilitate the production of a raffle license

This is a great opportunity to support West Ferris Ringette and contribute to the continued success of our association!

🎟️ FAMILIES WITH BINGO CREDITS

Please do not register your child until the Registrar emails you to confirm that your Bingo credits have been added to your account. This will take place in September.

💙 KIDSPORT OR JUMPSTART APPLICANTS

KidSport and Jumpstart help ease the financial burden of extracurricular activities.

Those applying for funding should visit the Subsidy page on our website for instructions on receiving an “Application Number” to use during RAMP registration.

✅ RESPECT IN SPORT FOR PARENTS

Ringette Ontario requires one parent of every player under the age of 18 to complete the Respect in Sport for Parents Program by November 1. This course is mandatory before the player’s registration can be approved.

If you have already completed the course for another sport, simply enter your certificate number during the RAMP registration process.

The course costs approximately $15, takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete and can be applied across multiple sport associations.

CELEBRATE CANADA DAY WITH WEST FERRIS RINGETTE!

West Ferris Ringette will be in the Kid Zone at the waterfront as part of the City’s Canada Day festivities on July 1 from 12:30–4:30 p.m. — and we need your help!

We’re looking for a large group of players, coaches and parents to volunteer for easy 30-minute shifts throughout the afternoon.

Volunteers will help kids:

🥅 Choose a ringette stick
🎯 Learn how to hold it
🎯 Shoot a ring at a target
😊 Have fun and discover ringette!

You don’t need a killer wrist shot or any special skills — just bring your enthusiasm for ringette and help make it a fun experience for the kids!

If you can bring yourself and a player and give us just 30 minutes of your Canada Day, it would be incredibly helpful and greatly appreciated.

🌧️☀️ We’ll be there rain or shine, so please dress accordingly!
