2022 — the bracelets by Kyle and the hand-painted graters by RC. ❤️
They were little kids then, and now look at them. Their confidence has grown so much. They may still be quiet, but they know who they are and what they want.
Kyle has always loved being around people and draws energy from social connection. He is constantly making plans with peers and family, thinking about the next adventure. .can Kyle’s peer lead

Kyle chose this one because, to him, Jesus represents goodness, safety, and calm. Interestingly, we never taught Kyle about faith or religion. He discovered that connection on his own during a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 2023.
While visiting the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Kyle became completely mesmerized. He sat quietly in the cathedral for nearly two hours, doing his breathwork and simply taking it all in. Since then, he has often asked us to take him to church.
When we go, he sits peacefully with his eyes closed and his hands together in prayer. It has been fascinating to watch him find his own sense of solace and peace, entirely on his own. His grandmother and great grandmother (from Mom’s side) would be very pleased to know this, and we know they do. ❤️
Worries and fear. Letting go is the hardest but the only way. Mothers of children with complex needs go through this worry every single day, and it affects our health and these reminders help so much. “If there are well- hearted people, there will be ill-hearted people. If you want to be part of the success story then you will also be part of the failing story. This is how it is.” Life☯️

Kyle Awareness. The heat is on. Cooling towel, A/C and cooling fan. He did so well in the Philippines and South Africa. And we were mindful of where and what to do when it’s high noon.
** The CHARGE community frequently reports temperature regulation difficulties, and many clinicians believe it is related to a combination of autonomic nervous system differences, sensory processing challenges, and endocrine factors that are common in CHARGE syndrome.
To those who once said our child would never learn, never achieve, or never amount to much, where are those voices now?
A decade ago, many people looked at Kyle and only saw limitations. They didn’t understand his behaviours, his communication, or how to teach a neurodiverse child. They saw obstacles where we saw potential.
This month, Kyle danced in front 600 people. Yes, he is Deaf and cannot hear the music the way others do, but he did it. He continues to create and sell his bracelets, earn his own money, and advocate for CHARGE Syndrome and Autism through his work.
The lesson was never about proving people wrong. It was about proving what is possible when a child is given patience, belief, opportunity, and the right support.
Kyle’s journey is far from over, but if there is one thing we have learned, it is this: never underestimate a child simply because their path looks different from yours. ❤️
🎥: Kyle using Ibis paint on between breaks from making bracelets. He likes designing his preferred characters and objects with it and complete with colours he likes. It’s simply creating more.

A beautiful person on a beautiful evening at the Vancouver Convention Centre
for Art Vancouver 2026.
Last summer, Kyle discovered a love for drawing and painting with Elika. For two hours, he stayed focused, engaged, and enjoyed the Art class with Elika. Thank you for supporting his interests and creating a space where he could thrive.
That was a win for all of us! creativity, connection and mindfulness. Kyle saw the map (above the photo here) and that’s when Kyle told us, “again painting this Summer!” ❤️🤟🏼 🌎
