Good day fastball fans

We were able to play two 7 inning games and one shortened adventure this past two days. Beautiful playing conditions.

The Guns were basically shut down as the Knights starter Clayton Robinson and reliever PJ Foucault gave up but one run combined on a four hitter. They walked one and struck out 12. Two two run bombs by Robinson and Dan Keith was the main difference. Final score Knights 7 - Guns 1.

Durham Men's Fastball League

06/27/2026

Gentlemen,
I'm reaching out to all of you today as part of the fastball brotherhood we all belong to, to ask that you step up to help one of our own.
As some of you may already know, one of our brothers is facing an incredibly difficult battle. Bigger than any he ever faced on the ball diamond.
Paul Foucault, better known to many of us as "BJ" or "Beej," has been diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer and faces a very tough road ahead.
I won't go into all the details, but the situation is heartbreaking, and shocking when you think of the almost invincible man we all called "friend and teammate".
Right now, Paul and Marlene need the support of the people who have shared so many years, memories, and friendships with them.
If you'd like to reach out to Paul personally, please do. I know he would appreciate hearing from old friends.
I'll also keep everyone updated as things progress.
The main reason for this email is to ask if you would consider making a donation to help Paul and Marlene through the challenges ahead.
Truthfully, this is not an email I ever imagined having to write, but it's what brothers in arms do when help is needed.
Like many of you, I have shared countless memories with BJ over the years, and it is difficult to see a friend facing something like this.
Whether it's $25 or $250 or any amount you're comfortable giving, every dollar will go directly to Paul and Marlene to help ease some of the burden they are carrying.
My hope is to present this gift on behalf of his friends and fastball alumni as a way of letting him know he is loved and his brothers care.
Together we can show him he is not alone and have his back like he always had ours.
Please don't feel pressured if you're unable to contribute. Donations amounts will be kept confidential.
Your thoughts, prayers, and support are equally appreciated.
At this point we aren't sure how much time he has left so it would be greatly appreciated if your donation, if you can contribute, be done as soon as possible.
If you would like to donate, please send an e-transfer to my email address below.
I have opened a separate bank account to keep track and will acknowledge receipt of all contributions.
Also, I have sent this to the email addresses of fastball friends I have. Look at the distribution list and if you have more that you believe should be included by all means do so.
I will also be posting this on my page and you also have permission to do so as well. Let's reach out to as many as possible and help our friend and teammate.
Let's show Paul and Marlene what a fastball family is all about and help them in whatever way we can during this difficult time.
Thank you sincerely,
Mike O'Hearn

Durham Men's Fastball League 2026 - Week # 5.

Morning DMFL Fans

Before last night's games #14 and #15 being cancelled by the City of Oshawa there was a single game on Wednesday night at 8:30 that we were able to complete.

And what a game it was as the Ravens pulled off the upset of the season when they beat the Knights 6 - 3 in a full 7 inning game for their first win of the year. A well played game but the Knights 3 errors cost them dearly.

PJ Foucault started off the game for the Knights with a huge home run to right field in the first inning.
The Knights also scored a 2nd run when LF Terry Challis scored Scott Perry who had walked before Rob Watson's single. They were up 2 - 0.

The Ravens answered right back when Sam Maksymyk, Ted Kociesca and Brian Mather singled off Clayton Robinson to knot the score at 2 - 2. They were still tied after 4 1/2 innings.

In the bottom of the 5th inning Knights John Marshall relieved Robinson on the rubber. The Ravens rallied for a 3 run inning with hits by Kociesca, Tom Watson, Carson Nyeboer, 2 errors and a sac fly by Bryant Polanco. 5 - 2 Ravens. The Ravens scored their 6th run when Terry Bowles doubled to lead off the inning, an error and another rbi single, his third hit, by Kociesca. 6 - 2 Ravens.
Blair McBratney entered the game to pitch the 6th & 7th inning. He had a clean 6th inning. In the 7th the Knights scored their 3rd run when Challis singled, and scored after a two out single by Ty McFadden and Dan Keith. McFadden was thrown out at home by a great throw by the left fielder to cut him down at the plate, 3rd out. Game over, final score 6 - 3 Ravens over the Knights. Brian Mather threw a very good game.
