NOTICE TO ALL LAWN BOWLING CLUBS

Missing Set of Lawn Bowls – Assistance Requested

The Goulbourn Lawn Bowling Club is seeking assistance in locating a missing set of lawn bowls that disappeared during an Open House event on May 20, 2026.

A request for the return of the bowls, in the event they had been taken inadvertently, was circulated 10 days ago. As the bowls have not been returned, we now have reason to believe they may have been intentionally removed.

We respectfully ask all clubs to be vigilant and to check any recently acquired bowls, particularly if a new player joins your club with a set matching the description below. The carrying sling is marked with an identifying number.

Description of Missing Bowls:

Bowl Set: O-1

Manufacturer: Taylor

Colour: Black

Size: O

Marking: Orange star inside two orange rings

Year Stamp: 2028

Sling: Numbered identification marking as above

If you have any information regarding these bowls or encounter a set matching this description, please contact the Goulbourn Lawn Bowling Club at [email protected]

We appreciate your assistance and cooperation in helping us recover this club property.

CONGRATULATIONS to Neil Montgomery, Bill Rogers and Sheila Rogers for winning the V!VA Retirement Communities tournament Saturday May 16.

Evening Bowls can be fun but a challenge with the setting sun in your eyes. New problem, squinting makes the jack look so tiny.
Getting one more Thursday night 'Jack Attack' in before construction starts and we have to close down for a few months.

First night of 'Rain'r Shine Doubles' and what a thrilling night it was. Rain, wind, and a brisk 8C degrees somehow made for smiles all around. The group of hardy bowlers made it through till their games end, and I'm sure all are hoping the season warms up soon.

Spring AGM
We had a very informative and well attended Spring AGM today. In the President's announcements and plans for this summer, there were Lots of 'dates are still unsure’. So stay tuned.

After the meeting a quick game of Double Jacks 4321... for all and then it was back inside for a wonderful lunch spread.

Overall, a great start to the season, we got to reconnect with old friends after a long winter, learned about what changes are coming up this summer with the construction, played bowls, had some newbies show up for lessons, and of course wonderful food.
It's going to be a good year. Thanks to everyone for attending.
