He threw out the ceremonial first pitch before his old Saskatoon Berries Baseball played their WCBL regular season contest, and he met fans at the park. Beck was selected in the first round and 26th overall by the Atlanta Braves last Saturday in the MLB Draft. . . . .

The Saskatoon Cubs 18U AAA Baseball swept a doubleheader against the Swift Current Argue Law 57’s in 18U AAA Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League action today at Leakos Field. The Cubs took both contests by identical 8-7 scores to improve to 15-11. . . . .

The Lazer Autobody Spirit of Sport Awards will be presented to athletes who have earned the respect of their teammates by continually and consistently displaying integrity, commitment, and sportsmanship, and who are catalysts in making everyone on the field of play feel like they belong. The award includes a cash prize for recipients.

Softball Saskatchewan Provincials are always a highlight of the season for the players. The U13B and U15B Girls North Provincial Championship Tournaments that ran this past Friday to Sunday were a great time. . . . .

Our diamonds were the site for Softball Saskatchewan’s U13B and U15B Girls North Provincial Championship Tournaments that started Friday and wrapped up today. They contained a combined 33 teams. The Watrous Royals won the U13B title, while the Maidstone Lakers claimed the U15B championship. . . . .

The Saskatoon Berries Baseball were celebrating the birthday of their mascot Barry the Bear during their win over the Swift Current 57s this afternoon at Cairns Field. It was a fun afternoon for Barry. . . . .

The Saskatoon Berries Baseball had the brooms out as they swept a four-game series today against the Swift Current 57s. The Berries romped to a 10-1 victory over the 57s at Cairns Field this afternoon. The Saskatoon side sits tied for first with the Moose Jaw Miller Express in the WCBL’s East Division with both clubs sporting 25-11 records. . . . .
