What a chase! Newfoundland Super Kings have defeated Mavericks NL by 5 wickets, chasing down 181 with 181/5 in 31.3 overs and booking their place in the F40 Final!

Rakesh Negi led the chase with an outstanding 61 off 55 balls, smashing 6 fours. Adeel Ilyas added a quick 36 off 28 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes, while Mak stayed unbeaten on 28 off 43. The finish was completed in style by Dharmik Kachhadiya, who smashed an unbeaten 21 off just 11 balls at a strike rate of 190.91.

For Mavericks, Ajit Brar and Deepak Rana were the main wicket-takers, picking up 2 wickets each. Sahil Pahwa also claimed one wicket.

After trailing at 83/4, NSK found the momentum they needed and finished the chase comfortably, with 5 wickets in hand.

NSK are now the first team to secure their spot in the F-40 Final!

Mavericks NL have posted 180/9 in 35 overs, setting Newfoundland Super Kings a target of 181 in this F40 semi-final.

Deepak Rana was the backbone of the Mavericks innings, playing an excellent knock of 74 off 90 balls, with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Amit Negandhi supported him with a patient 28 off 43 balls, while Shubham Sharma added 21 off 29 balls. Ajit Brar scored a quick 14 off 11 balls, and captain Ranvir Rana contributed 13 off 17.

The innings featured two important partnerships. Ranvir Rana and Amit Negandhi put together exactly 20 runs, helping Mavericks recover after a difficult start. The biggest partnership came between Deepak Rana and Shubham Sharma, who added a crucial 85 runs to take Mavericks from 73/5 to 158/6 and put the innings back on track.

There was also a quick 20-run contribution from Deepak and the lower order as Mavericks pushed towards 180 in the final overs.

With the ball, Shakeel Ahmed was the standout for NSK, taking 4 wickets. He made the perfect start by dismissing Taran for a duck and then removing Sahil Pahwa for just 0 off 1 ball and Harsh Prajapati for 0 off 5 balls. That was an outstanding opening spell from Shakeel.

Rakesh Negi also picked up 2 wickets, including the important wicket of Deepak Rana, while Karmajeet Zala, Harman Sidhu and Vraj Patel claimed one wicket each. Harman also deserves credit for removing Mukul Dhawan for just 3 runs.

Rakesh Negi conceded 40 runs, while Prahar Vyas gave away 39. These were the two most expensive spells for NSK and could prove important as Mavericks have managed to reach a strong total of 180.

In yesterday’s Qualifier 1, Mavericks NL defended their total of 168/9 to defeat NL wolves by 18 runs. Wolves finished their 20 overs on 150/8.

Chasing 169, Amandeep Singh Manjira top-scored with 36 off 33 balls, while captain Akash Deep Singh added 27 off 24. Prabh Singh Majithia scored 19 off 18, Maan Pargat made 18 off 16, and A***n Falke contributed 14.

The Wolves were unable to build a big partnership, with their highest stand being 26 runs between Amandeep Singh Manjira and Akash Deep Singh. Mavericks kept taking wickets at crucial moments to stay in control of the chase.

With the ball, Sahil Pahwa led the Mavericks attack with 3 wickets, while Ranvir Rana took 2 wickets. Ajit Brar, Deepak Rana and Shashi Parbhane picked up one wicket each.
