☀️ Kids Zone Summer Club is coming!

We're excited to share that our summer team is coming together and we're busy preparing for seven weeks of fun, friendship, creativity, outdoor play, games, challenges, special guests, and themed activities right here at North McIntyre Rec Centre.

Most of all, we're looking forward to meeting the children and families who will be part of our very first Kids Zone Summer Club!

We’re finalizing plans for children’s summer programming at North McIntyre Recreation Centre, including activities, hours, fees, registration options, and available spaces.

If your family may be interested and you haven’t completed the survey yet, we’d love to hear from you. Your feedback will help us make practical decisions about what families need most and what will work best for local kids.

🚒 If you happen to drive by and see fire trucks at the Centre today — no need to sound the alarm 😄

We’re not on fire and nobody is hanging out the windows waving for help! We’re pleased to be providing our property as a training space while our local firefighters practice fire suppression skills in a wooded area. (You'll have to look VERY closely to see their hose and helmets in there!)

A big thank you to the Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters who spend time preparing and training so they’re ready when our communities need them. 👨‍🚒🔥

Join us tomorrow for Silver Cinema as we screen A Chance Encounter (2022) — a gentle romance/drama set in beautiful Sicily, where an aspiring poet and a folk singer cross paths and find inspiration, connection, and a few unexpected possibilities along the way. 🎶

On behalf of the staff and Board at the North McIntyre Rec Centre, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and community members affected by the recent loss of two young lives. We are holding all those grieving in our thoughts during this difficult time.

We were disappointed to arrive this morning and find donations scattered all over our parking lot after someone went through the clothing bin overnight.

We’re happy to support community services like this, but cleanup of it takes time away from the programs and activities our staff and volunteers are here to provide for the community.

If you use the donation bin, please help us keep the space clean and respectful for everyone using the centre and playground.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the situation and considering whether the bin can remain on site long-term if this continues.
