⛸️ Little Skaters, Big Beginnings! ❤️

Is your little one ready to take their first steps on the ice?

PreCanSkate is the perfect place to start! ⭐

Designed for our youngest beginner skaters, PreCan introduces children to skating in a fun, positive and encouraging environment where the goal is to get moving, build confidence and have FUN!

Through games, toys, music and activities, our coaches and Program Assistants help little skaters learn important beginner skills like:

⛸️ Getting up and moving on the ice
⭐ Balance & coordination
↪️ Moving in different directions
🛑 Learning to stop
❤️ Feeling comfortable and confident on skates

There may be a few wobbles. There may be a few tumbles. And there will definitely be lots of learning along the way! 😊

PreCan is all about giving children a positive first experience on the ice and building the foundation they’ll need as they move into CanSkate and beyond.

Whether their future includes figure skating, hockey, ringette, or simply skating with family and friends, every skater has to start somewhere.

And this is a pretty great place to start. ❤️⛸️

🏒 Stronger Skating Starts Here! ⛸️

Does your young hockey or ringette player love being on the ice and want to become a stronger, more confident skater?

PrePower is where those skills begin. ❤️

Designed for young hockey and ringette players with previous skating experience, PrePower focuses specifically on developing the skating skills they need for their sport.

Skaters work on:

⚡ Speed & agility
💪 Strength & power
⛸️ Skating technique
🎯 Balance & control
↪️ Edges, turns & direction changes
⭐ Confidence on the ice

Because while hockey and ringette teach the game, PrePower helps develop the skating underneath it.

PrePower is perfect for players ages 6+ who are comfortable skating forward and backward, stopping, pushing with both feet and balancing/gliding on one foot.

📍 Programs available in Erin & Hillsburgh
🏒 For hockey & ringette players
⛸️ Minimum CanSkate Stage 2 or equivalent
❤️ Fun, supportive coaching environment

Give your player the skating foundation to feel stronger, quicker and more confident on the ice.

Registration is open now! https://www.hillsburgherinsc.com/

A reminder that our Program Assistant (PA) Training is taking place this Saturday, September 19th from 1:00–2:00 p.m. at the Erin Community Centre Arena.

⛸️ PA Training Details

📅 Saturday, September 19th
⏰ 1:00–2:00 p.m.
📍 Erin Community Centre Arena

Skaters must be dressed and ready to go for on-ice training at 1:00 p.m. Please plan to arrive early so everyone is ready to get on the ice on time.

We want our PAs to come prepared with their positive attitude, outgoing personality, and willingness to learn! Our Program Assistants play such an important role in helping our younger skaters have a fun, positive, and encouraging experience on the ice.

🦺 PA Vest Fitting & Deposit

Before or after the training session, skaters will be fitted for their Program Assistant vest. So please ensure your skater has time to try on vests. They will need to have their vest deposit with them in order to take their vest home.

The deposit can be paid by cash, e-transfer, or post-dated cheque. The deposit will be returned at the end of the season once the vest is returned in the same condition it was provided.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday and getting our PAs ready for another great skating season!

See you on the ice! ❤️
