Recently at Camp Hurontario…
Loads of awesome days out - fishing off the barge, freezies at O’Donnell’s Point, reaching new heights along the tightrope walk, and windsurfing around the island.
Epic evening events - Ice cream night, Capture the Flag, and our very own rock concert: Campstock 🎸 Neil Young and Crazy Horse made a special guest appearance, and boy did they shred those guitars.

HOOD RIVER. JULY, 2026
Camp Hurontario’s trip above the arctic circle was a true once in a lifetime experience for this group of woodsy leaders-in-training.
Led by their fearless counsellors Will and Doug, the group flew out to Yellowknife at the end of June before taking their canoes and equipment by float plane to the Hood River in the Northwest Territories.
From there they paddled through some of the wildest parts of Canada into Nunavut, spotting caribou at close range, catching huge fish to fillet for dinner, and sleeping under the midnight sun.
Passing by the incomparable Wilberforce Falls is always a highlight of the 19 day trip, which came to triumphant end in Bathurst Inlet on the Arctic Coast.
A huge thank you goes out to Doug and Will for leading the way.

Welcome Session D campers, and welcome back to our woodsy trippers!
Today’s all day event was so much fun. We spent the morning breaking camp records all over the island, and this afternoon we chose our own adventures: see featured in this post those who chose to canoe out to O’Donnell’s Point to go cliff jumping. The weather was warm and the view of the open bay was spectacular!

Epic Events at Camp Hurontario 🔥
In the past three days we’ve had some crazy fun times at camp… all day outdoor fun for Birnie’s Bash, skits and games in the Rec Hall, a rodeo-themed dock party, and ice cream night this evening!

Welcome August Intro Campers!
After a delicious lunch of meatball subs, these woodsy guys tackled the high and low ropes challenge courses before swimming at the beach. After dinner, everyone enjoyed archery at the range and made clay models at the art shop before settling down for a good nights sleep. An amazing first day at camp!
