“At least a third of a woman’s life is marked with aging; about a third of her body is made of fat. Both symbols are being transformed into operable condition—so that women will only feel healthy if we are two thirds of the women we could be.” - Naomi Wolf (The Beauty Myth)
Women come in all shapes and sizes. This isn’t a commentary on individual bodies - but something a lot deeper. I give my personal take on how women are being convinced to ignore their true power, in favour of false power - how their body looks.

This isn’t a commentary on body sizes - rather about realizing that your worth and power is not in meeting a cultural beauty standard or in how you look, it comes from WITHIN. And if you hinge your sense of happiness on your body, you’ll be trapped by it.
True happiness and feeing good starts from within. If you are tired of living in a tight grip around your body, comment GUIDE to get a free copy of The Guide to Body Peace: For women tired of “fixing” their bodies, and ready to feel free

The world is changing and the feminine energy is rising, after thousands of years of suppression.
But before it can rise - there is a “fight” playing out. It manifests as women shrinking their bodies and focused on their appearance, instead of exploring their inner world and stepping into their true power.
But the shift doesn’t happen “out there” with other people - it happens “in here”, and it happens with US. With YOU, with ME. WE make the change. And then the world changes.
If you are feeling the call to drop the old ways of looking at your body - of thinking it’s not good enough, of constantly efforting and manipulating it, and ready to feel at peace in your body knowing your power with comment GUIDE and I’ll DM you a link to get a free copy of The Guide to Body Peace: For women tired of trying to “fix” their bodies, and ready to feel free.

For so many women the desire to begin a new diet or improve their body is rooted in a core belief of not being enough.
It’s a sneaky one because it gets covered up with noble desires like “it’s for my health”, or “I just feel better when I look this way”.
But if there is any feeling of resistance to the body as it is right now, then way down at the bottom is an underlying belief of “I’m not enough”.
BEGIN with the belief of “I Am Enough” and then allow action (or inaction) to follow from there. Some of the things you would normally do might stay the same, some may be similar, and some may change completely.
Let it happen on its own accord. Life gets much sweeter when you start from “ I Am Enough”.

Dieting and weight control can feel necessary, when not doing it feels like chaos.
It’s true that can be the case; but it doesn’t have to be. Ease and balance is possible when the root causes of the chaos are addressed.
I get into this in the latest episode of the Unlearning Beautiful podcast. Comment PODCAST to get the link to listen 🎧

You don’t have to spend your life caring so darn much about your weight and appearance. You’re allowed to relax, enjoy, and care for your body in a peaceful way - even if everyone around you is still fighting.

Children by nature are open and loving. They see people for who they are, not how they look. But children VERY quickly absorb the mentality of the culture as a survival instinct. Their mind says “we need to know the lay of the land, what is safe and not safe. How do I need to act or look in order to receive love and belong?”
And even if one parent doesn’t subscribe to the cultural beauty standard (like Betty’s Mom), they can pick it up from extended family members who still do, and the culture at large.
This is the critical point where if we can disrupt the pattern of “good and bad body” thinking, we can help children retain their own sense of connectedness with themselves and their true worth.
But we have to do the work OURSELVES first. We got to put our own oxygen mask on before we help others.
So if you’re ready to do this healing work for yourself; comment GUIDE you can begin with a free copy of The Guide to Body Peace, and then explore deeper support from there.
You deserve to feel connected to your body, trusting of it, and loving toward it and yourself 💗

Lately I’ve been seeing ads where women are saying “I’ve stopped dieting and I finally lost weight! Here’s how you can do it too.”
Maybe. Maybe that can happen. But also, maybe not.
More deeply than that, it’s still pinning weight loss as the “ticket” to health and happiness. And it’s not. Not in and of itself. Weight loss absolutely can be a result of health improvement. But happiness is not a result of that. It SEEMS like it is - but only when you hold your happiness hostage to weight loss.
The more ethical approach is: “I can’t guarantee weight loss, but I can help you reconnect with your body more to see what feels good when you eat, help you with a fitness plan that fits your life and energizes you, help you let go of stress and feel more emotionally connected”. That’s not as quick though, and not as satisfying in the moment. But it will bring the stable, lasting change.
Letting go of weight fixation isn’t easy, but it’s a healing path if you choose to walk it. That’s the transition I help women make. And if you want support for that, check out my resources below 👇

We can never truly be free and authentic when we are seeking others approval. And in a culture that is hung up on judging bodies - this can show up as feeling the need to control our appearance to be “approved of”. It’s a survival instinct. But we can overcome it, and return to living free within ourselves.
I share three ways you can overcome caring what other people think about your body in the latest Unlearning Beautiful podcast episode. Comment PODCAST and l’ll DM you the link to listen 🎧
