Appreciation Post - Volunteers
This past weekend I had the opportunity to work with some of the city's amazing young, energetic, dedicated and focused individuals while seeing the next wave of future female athletes here in Canada, U.S and future global athletes.
Each player, team and my volunteers showed up and helped me with the back office operations for the 15th annual Shoot 4 A Cure Basketball Showcase Shoot 4 Cure event in partnership with First Step Sports supporting research funding for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
It was a long weekend, it was Thanksgiving weekend and many of you could have been doing hundred other things but you raised your hand and showed up ready to commit to your commitment.
To the parents and younger siblings that pulled in to the score table to give your time when we were running short on staff for the time being. THANK YOU for being a team sport and your willingness to step in.
To every spectator, coaches, Refs that took time and patience with my volunteers - thank you for your kindness and being a human to other humans.
Many of these are high school students that wanted to give back, for many it was their first time on this side of the game, for many it was seeing and supporting their friends, for many it was the ultimate goal of the event.
Friendly Reminder - when you're attending a charity basketball event where volunteers are there sharing their time.
Remember that they are giving more than their time. They are giving their energy, their skills, their PATIENCE, and a piece of themselves because they believe in the cause.
Donation link is still available via link on my bio. Let's continue to be good humans and support each other while on this earth for the short time.
As always let's continue to Support Cheer Unite βπΏβπΏ
