It’s that time again! Janine Riley & family have teamed up with Black Rock Oceanfront Resort to share pumpkins by donation, from Tofino Ucluelet Culinary Guild with our amazing Ukee community!
All proceeds go to the Dustin Riley Memorial Soap Box Derby — a much-loved event that brings smiles (and speedy soap boxes!) to our local kids every September. 🏎️✨
🧡 Pumpkin pick-up starts late next week, (thanks to Westcoast Connect for their delivery service) at Black Rock Resort — official date to be announced soon, so stay tuned!
Grab a pumpkin, and help keep this special community tradition rolling! 🌊🎃

A HUGE thank you to our amazing community for coming out to cheer on the kids at the Dustin Riley Memorial Soap Box Derby today! 🙌 The energy was incredible — from the races to the face paint, and of course all the 🍭 cotton candy, 🍿 popcorn, and 🌭 hot dogs. We hope everyone went home with full bellies and big smiles! 💙

🌾 Hay Bale Sale! Starting Monday, hay bales from the derby will be available for a minimum $15 donation per bale at the Rent It Centre, 317 Forbes Road (cash only). First come, first serve!

The Soap Box Derby is on! 🚦🏎️

Join us this Saturday, September 13th at 10am on lower Bay Street for some fast, fun, and fearless racing.

Sure, the forecast may be calling for a little west coast liquid sunshine, but postponing isn’t an option with so many awesome community events coming up. And let’s be honest—our kids are west coast kids, a little rain never hurt anyone! 🌧️💪

Pro tip: cotton candy may dissolve in the drizzle… but that just means you should eat it faster. 😉

Grab your rain jackets, bring your cheer, and let’s make some memories.

🚦 Dustin Riley Memorial Soap Box Derby – We Need Your Help! 🚦

The Soap Box Derby is a beloved community tradition, but this year we have very few kids registered. To make this event happen, we need at least 20 participants.

Events like this take a lot of work, planning, and funding, and without enough racers we won’t be able to move forward. A decision will be made by Wednesday, September 3rd.
