Today was a day we knew was coming but were dreading nonetheless , as we always hope our old horses can live forever. At 32 years of age Poster Boy Solano affectionately known as Bud was laid to rest. He was the last son of the famous Doc Solano. Bud came to WW Stables in 2002 when he was purchased by the Love family for their daughter Allison. He was an absolutely phenomenal reining horse and won many youth championships with Allison and open championships with Wendy in the saddle. He was then sold to Kelsey Wiens who went on to have many outstanding wins in the Reining pen. After Kelsey retired Bud he was given to Wendy to live out his days teaching kids and adults to ride. He has been the cornerstone of our lesson program for the last 15 plus years and his absence has already left a large hole in our hearts. We cannot even count the number of people Bud was able to give confidence to and turn into great riders there will never be another horse like him he was truly one in a million. He will be dearly missed by everyone at WW Stables including his best friend Peppy. We want to thank Dr Cyndi Kasper who is the absolute best vet and gave Bud outstanding care from the day he arrived at WW Stables until he passed. We also want to thank Jonathan Green for all the years of shoeing old Bud man. We know Bud is pain free and running in the pastures over the rainbow bridge❤️
The Best Horses in Heaven, They Have No Tail
by Miska Paget
The best horses in Heaven they have no tail.
This is a rule they all know without fail.
For when a new horse arrives with a short cut bob, they all know that this horse did a very good job.
His owner could not bear to part with her friend-so she saved his tail, wrapped in ribbons and in braids, to hold with his memory in a very loving way.
To enter Heaven without a tail is an honor, a message, that without fail announces to everyone, far and wide that this horse was more than a wonderful ride.
But this horse was loved and cherished by one and when his time serving on this Earth was done he left behind a broken heart and a soul from which he never will part.
