⭐️𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗝𝗘𝗟 𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗘⭐️

After seven years as Executive and Artistic Director of Dansehallerne, Danjel Andersson will step down at the end of September 2026 to take up the position of Artistic Director at Dansstationen in Malmö.

🟡 Since joining Dansehallerne in 2019, Danjel has left a significant mark on both the organisation and the development of contemporary dance and choreography in Denmark. With a strong artistic vision, an extensive international network and a clear commitment to presenting works of relevance, depth and urgency, he has been a driving force during a defining period for Dansehallerne.

🟡 Under his leadership, Dansehallerne opened its new home in the historic boiler house, Kedelhuset, in Carlsberg City District in August 2024. Through initiatives such as the international festival OPENINGS and the new Yes - dance biennale (26 August - 28 September 2026), he has helped strengthen visibility, connection and collaboration across the dance field.

💛 We thank Danjel for seven remarkable years and look forward to continuing our close collaboration with both him, Dansstationen and the dance community across the Øresund region.

⭐️A strong foundation for dance in Denmark is built through collaboration⭐️

That’s why Dansehallerne is joining forces with Bora Bora - Dans og visuelt teater and Aaben Dans to develop 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸.

With support from the 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻, we have initiated a pilot project to explore how best to strengthen the conditions for dance across the country - from development and production to presentation and touring.

This spring, we are engaging in research, workshops, and dialogue with artists and stakeholders across the field.
