🍏 Green Smoothie for Detox & Spring 💚

🥒 Here's a simple recipe for a refreshing Green Detox Spring Smoothie.

🌿 Ingredients:
- spinach / kale / green
- celery
- green apple
- banana
- cucumber
- green powder
- mint leaves (or hierbabuena in Spain)
- chia seed and linseed
- nuts
- curcuma
- ginger!
- fresh lemon juice
- plain water

🍀 Feel free to customize this recipe by adding any other greens, or boosting the nutrition with a scoop of protein powder. I add a lot of mint (hierbabuena) leaves, which gives very lovely flavor. 🌱

🫛 So tasty, so delicious! Drink daily in the morning during 2-3 weeks.

🥑 Enjoy your refreshing and nutritious Green Smoothie! Especially during the spring it gives you a lot of boost, as also all dark green, leafy vegetables and fresh herbs.

YIN TRAINING 30h MALAGA DONE! 💙🙏🤍 NAMASTE

🔹️ My fourth Yin Yoga Teacher Training Málaga is happily completed. Overall it was my twenty-first Yin Training! 🙋‍♀️
Now we had the Yin 30h Training for. It was very exciting and inspiring!

➡️ The group was quite small but they came around the Europe. The studying and teaching were pleasant, intensive and personal. 

🔹️ It was wonderful to teach this training for a motivated group of yinsters! We spent the weekend studying, sharing, exploring new things and learning the beauty of Yin. 

🔹️ I'm deeply happy and grateful that people are interested in the profound world of gentle Yin and they want to learn new things, continue their personal development and choose to open new doors in their lives.

🔹️ I want to send my special thanks to Ivana for her kindness and help and to her lovely studio . It was a pleasure to create this together, and make it happen and possible for these yogis.

🟢 SEASONAL YIN 🍀 WOOD & SPRING 🌴 FROG

🍀 THE WOOD ELEMENT. In Chinese Medicine spring is the season of the Wood Element.

☘️ THE ORGANS for the Wood are liver & gallbladder. They do the cleansing of the body.

🌵 THE WOOD ELEMENT
▫️ Season: Spring
▫️ Element: Wood
▫️ Taste: Sour
▫️ Meridians & Organs: Liver and gallbladder
▫️ Emotion: Anger - Irritation - Frustration -> Kindness - Compassion - Planning

🌿 THE MERIDIANS of liver run on the inner legs, and gallbladder on the side of the body. These are the target area of the asanas for the Wood.
'
🌳 FROG
▫️TIME: 2-3 minutes
▫️MERIDIAN: liver, gallbladder, spleen
▫️TARGET: groins, hips, inner & outer legs, lower back
▫️BENEFITS: Stimulates the liver meridian, improves hip mobility, stretches legs, opens the back
▫️PROPS: blanket, block, bolster
▫️VARIATIONS: Half Frog, Whole Frog

🍀 HOW: Start from child's pose and slide both hands forward, separating the knees but remaining sitting on the heels.
You may move their hips forward to avoid painful compression. For a whole Frog, separate feet as wide as the knees.
You may also do half frog with one leg. Don’t go deeper to advance in this posture but stay longer.
Relax the torso, shoulders, head, neck and the arms. Use probs if needed.
If there are any discomfort in the lower back, stay in a child's pose.
Stay few minutes with mindful breath.
Come out of the posture slowly and have a short rebound.

🌱 USE OF PROPS: a blanket under the knees. You can support your torso on a bolster or on a block.

🌿 SEASONAL YIN. With Seasonal Yin & living & diet we can harmonize ourselves with spring.

🍀 Spring & the Wood Element & Diet
PART 4 FOUR

Spring is time for the Wood Element, growth, renewal and expansion.
It is the season of fresh, green diet.

🧩 LIVER IN TCM. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Wood Element is associated with the liver and gallbladder organs. The liver governs the smooth flow of Qi-energy, blood, digestion and detoxification.

🧩 WOOD & DIET. The taste for the Wood Element is sour. In spring we want to support liver health with special diet by consuming sour, green and fresh foods. It promotes smooth energy flow.
Also, avoiding alcohol, sugars and fatty and processed foods helps the liver to cleanse.

✅️ TIPS FOR WOOD DIET
- Sour tastes, limon, lime, grapefruit, fermented foods, apple cider vinegar
- Green foods, leafy vegetables, kale, spinach, chard, arugula, steamed broccoli
- Eat raw and fresh or light steaming
- Bitter foods, such as chicory, dandelion greens, artichokes
- Hydration, drink plenty of water to help flush toxins.

☘️ FOOD TO AVOID. Try to avoid alcohol and caffeine, fatty & processed foods, and refined sugars. Those can disrupt the liver's functions and stuck the free flow of Qi-energy.

✳️ LIFESTYLE & DIET
- Eat mindfully, sit down and enjoy meals to aid digestion.
- Regularity, eat small, frequent meals rather than large, heavy ones.
- Seasonality, align with the natural energy of growth and renewal.

These sour and green foods help cleanse the liver and promote smooth energy flow.
If you feel tense or irritable, adding these foods in moderation can support also emotional balance.

▫️TIME: 3 minutes
▫️MERIDIAN: liver, gallbladder, spleen

▫️PROPS: blanket, pillow, block, bolster
▫️VARIATIONS: Side Dragonfly with variations, Half Dragonfly

🍀 HOW: Sit legs straight and opened on the floor rooted on both sitting bones. Straighten the spine and fold forward, supporting the upper body with the arms, then round the spine.
Relax the upper back, shoulders, neck and the arms. Use probs if needed.
If there are any discomfort in the lower back, stay in a more upright pose.
Stay few minutes with mindful breath.
Come out of the posture slowly and have a short rebound.

🌱 USE OF PROPS: a blanket or a pillow under the pelvis. You can support your forehead on a bolster or on a block.

🌿 SEASONAL YIN. With Seasonal Yin & living & diet we can harmonize ourselves with spring.
