This may or may not surprise you about me but…

I struggle with anxiety.

Sometimes it feels so intense, I can hardly breathe.

This morning it felt like someone was literally sitting on my chest.

There is a LOT going on BTS in my life right now, no need for me to go into it but it IS a lot.

I know ‘this too shall pass’ and until it does I will keep getting up, getting out and moving my body.

It really really does help.

If you are someone who suffers with anxiety, I hear you, I feel you, I see you, I am you. 💜

Let’s move our beautiful bodies today and be kind to ourselves. Ok?

☀️ HOW TO SURVIVE HIIT IN THE HEAT ☀️

Or, more specifically... how to survive Metafit in Valencia now it is starting to get a little sticky! 😅

Here are my top tips:

💧 Hydrate the day before.
If you're thirsty when you arrive, you're already behind.

🚽 Check your p*e.
Pale yellow = you're probably good to go.
[Bright yellow and a bit stinky? Then you are going to find HIIT in the heat even harder lovely! Drink some water not only on the day of working out but the day before and the day before that 😉]

🧴 Wear sunscreen.
We train in the shade, under the bridge, but you'll still be out in the Valencian sun walking to and from the session.

👕 Dress for the weather.
Less clothing, loose clothing... whatever helps you stay cool and comfortable.

🧂 Sweat a lot?
Try a homemade electrolyte drink first thing in the morning: water, lemon, a pinch of salt and a little honey.

And most importantly...

🔥 Don't let the heat put you off.

Metafit is designed so you can work at your own level. You'll never be expected to keep up with anyone else.

The thing is… later has a habit of turning into never.

There’ll always be a reason to wait. An excuse. A better time.

My own worst enemy lives…

…between my ears.

Was hoping for a better result at today’s race but my mind had another idea.

Lots going on in my life right now and even though my body felt STRONG, my mind put on the handbrake today.

So actually maybe my mind was being my friend rather than my enemy today 🤔
