A Busy Weekend for our Revive Active Ladies captained by Lilian McMullan
Having Got 3.5 matches against Greenisland at CAGC.
They played return leg on Saturday and once again they were too hot to handle.
Armagh Pairings of Emma and Tara were first to win the match they required 4&3 and all other matches were well up.
A brilliant result Ladies, Good Luck in the 4th Round.

Club Stableford Results for Sunday 31st May

Ruari Smyth, playing off 20, claimed the winners slot in Sunday’s Club Stableford with an impressive 44 points. His 7 par haul was enough to see off a hard chasing Stephen Kellet, playing off 33, who also amassed a 43 point total.

Kevin Ward finished in 3rd place with 41 points, the 18 handicappers gross 41 back nine that included a birdie and 4 pars was enough to push Paul Donnelly, playing off 16, into 4th place.

Shea Smyth concluded a profitable weekend with another appearance in the prize list as the 4 handicappers gross 69 that included 12 pars and 3 birdies ensured that he collected the gross prize.

Saturday 30th May saw everyone teeing off from the back markers as the club Scratch Cups were up for grabs and gross scores were all that mattered.

Rooney Claims Open Scratch Stroke Play Title with Superb 65

Joe Rooney produced a masterclass in scoring to capture the Open Scratch Stroke Play title with an outstanding gross 65, finishing two shots clear of the chasing pack.

Rooney's round was highlighted by a blistering front nine of 31, three under par, setting the tone for a dominant performance. After opening with a par on the 1st, he quickly found momentum with birdies on the 2nd, 6th and 8th holes, while also taking advantage of the par-three 9th to turn in 31.

The back nine proved equally impressive. Rooney birdied the par-five 10th and eagled the par-five 12th before maintaining his composure through the closing stretch. Despite a bogey on the 17th and 18th he carded a four-under-par back nine of 34 and a tournament-winning total of 65, four shots better than the course par of 69.

James Johnston secured second place with a gross 67, while Shea Smyth finished third on 68, rounding out a highly competitive leaderboard.

Brannigan Battles to Woods Scratch Cup Victory with Solid 73

Patrick Brannigan produced a determined and resilient performance to claim victory with a gross score of 73 in challenging conditions.

Brannigan's round got off to a steady start as he mixed pars with a pair of bogeys on the front nine. Despite dropping shots at the 1st and 5th holes, he remained composed throughout the opening stretch, carding a two-over-par 36 at the turn.

The back nine proved to be a test of patience and consistency. A bogey on the par-five 10th was followed by a steady run of golf that kept his challenge firmly on track. Brannigan responded well with a birdie at the par-four 14th, one of the highlights of his round, before continuing to grind out pars over the closing holes.

Although a late bogey at the demanding 16th added pressure coming down the stretch, Brannigan held his nerve over the final two holes to secure a winning total of 73, four over par.

His victory was built on solid course management and the ability to limit mistakes, recording one birdie and 11 pars across the 18 holes. In a round where scoring opportunities were limited, Brannigan's consistency proved the key factor as he emerged at the top of the leaderboard.

His better back nine pushed fellow 10 handicapper Mark Hagan into 2nd position with Niall Brady finishing 3rd with a gross 74

Conroy Claims Victory with Gritty Winning Round of 81 to capture The Webster Cup

Ben Conroy emerged victorious after producing a determined round of 81, overcoming a demanding course and challenging scoring conditions to finish at the top of the leaderboard.

Conroy's round began steadily, with pars at the 2nd, 6th and 9th holes helping him stay in contention despite early bogeys. The front nine proved a stern examination, and he turned for home on 40, six shots over par but still firmly in the hunt.

The back nine followed a similar pattern as Conroy battled hard to limit mistakes. A solid par on the par-five 10th settled the nerves before he navigated a difficult stretch of holes with composure. Consistent play and an ability to avoid any major setbacks kept his challenge alive throughout the inward half.

Pars at the 13th and 17th holes were key moments in the round, while a steady finish saw him return home in 41 shots for a total of 81.

Although the score was above par, it proved enough to secure victory in his section on a day when the course took its toll on the field.
Conroy's success was built on perseverance and sound course management rather than spectacular scoring. Recording six pars across the round, he remained patient and focused while others struggled to find consistency.

In difficult conditions where every shot mattered, Conroy's resilience and determination ultimately earned him a well-deserved victory and the winner's prize.

He was closely followed home by Kieran Grimley who also shot an 81 and Ian Millar filled the 3rd spot with an 82

McCrea Shows Determination to Secure Connolly Cup Victory with 87

Andrew McCrea battled through a demanding day on the course to claim victory in his section with a winning gross score of 87.
McCrea faced challenges from the outset but demonstrated resilience throughout the round. He opened with a double bogey at the 1st before settling into his rhythm with a par at the 2nd. Further pars at the 5th and 8th helped steady the ship as he turned in 42 shots on the outward nine.

The back nine presented another stern test, but McCrea continued to grind out a score that would ultimately prove good enough for victory. A well-earned par at the 11th was one of the highlights of the inward half, while further pars at the 15th and 17th showcased his ability to respond under pressure.

Despite facing difficulties on several of the closing holes, McCrea remained focused and avoided any costly mistakes that could have derailed his challenge. He returned a back-nine score of 45 for an overall total of 87, a score that proved enough to top the standings in his category.

Recording five pars over the 18 holes, he showed the importance of staying patient and committed when conditions and scoring opportunities are tough.

McCrea's ability to keep battling and post the best score in his section was ultimately rewarded with a deserved victory and another successful day on the course.

In a competitive section he was closely followed home by Samuel Allen who also carded an 87 and Sean Perry whose 88 for 3rd was the best of 3 88’s carded in this section on a tough day for golf.
