The formation of Kennington Football Club dates back to before 1890. The Kent County Football Association records show our existence in 1888, however The Football Association put our birth in 1885. After being reduced to 10 men inside the opening 20 minutes, and being down 2-0 with 10 minutes to, a Joe Mant header in the 96th minute secures a hard fought point.
